I know some of you have chromed your frame....I'm looking to do the opposite. I want to paint a few pieces of metal to match the frame. I am almost done with my hard bag system, I have all the brackets made and drilled some rear mounting holes so it will be secure. Basically I have two chrome pieces and two raw 6061 pieces that I want to paint to match the color of the XB9 frame so they don't stick out so much (they'll still be ugly but I can live with it for the convenience). The raw 6061 doesn't quite match, not the biggest deal, but since I'm going to be sandblasting the chrome to paint it I figure I might as well do it all, and try to get the best color match. Has anyone painted anything to match their frame or had to do touchup work after a crash? I'm looking for a grey/silver color that will come close to the frame, and that level of gloss/matte if possible. I've got some good advice on prep and painting these materials so far, but if anyone has recommendations on paint brands that could be handy! Thanks |

Yer in luck! They sell the exact color you need. The part number is on the Buell web site. |

Thanks Glitch, somehow that's the last place I expected to find it! I've never heard of "touch up paint" for a motorcycle but I guess they were thinking ahead. That's pretty spendy at $12.75 but I can probably get away with one can for the thin parts I have. DaveS, any chance you have it in stock or can get it? (M0310.YBD 12oz Aerosol) I'm ready to order some other stuff soon and my local dealer didn't have anything I needed this weekend. |

Put some frame pucks on my 12S from American Sport Bike and painted them using SEM 39263, a bumper grey, which matches very well. Should be able to obtain from your local parts house. Dan |

Oooh, good idea. I totally forgot about that! I was going to get frame pucks and paint them white to match the plastics on my bike....but if I get the frame color paint they'll blend in even better! |
