Baby Bart? I've got a lot of work to do to live up to that! Having had the honor to meet both of you, Baby Bart is MOST appropriate. Coolness that you have been able to meet some of the Best of the West! great story about that, I'll pull a Court and tell you later, but it's a story about Court... As stolen from a video from a Porterville rally some many years back, in the words of John Hargis "Where's Court?"...can't wait to hear this one.

John is now retired but still proves that the greatest thing about motorcycle is the PEOPLE. What a special person. I have that video and still giggle at it. How many Buell shirts were in it? Court |

Just got off the horn with Alexander, he is safely in St. Louis, He is fretting a bit about the 1600 mile trip to catch the ferry in Nova Scotia to Newfoundland. He is not sure if he will be riding solo or not, but right now it looks as if he will be. He told me about all of you that he has meet, and is insisiting that we make the trip at a later date. Ride hard brother, Brian Ferris, he is a piece of work, remind me to tell you the story of how he gave me a kidney stone... |

OK Ferris, here's some more. We didn't take many pictures as we were moving most of the time. Alex arrives in Salina 3 1/2 hours late due to construction delays along Route 50. This is a highlight of the scenery he saw in Kansas. He was deleriously delighted at the beauty he saw, and the curvy roads. He did comment that Zion was "pretty good", but I'm sure he liked this more. While waiting for Alex to arrive at the KC Assembly Plant, I was struck by the parking protocol. Motor Company products (including 2 lonely Buells) are allowed to park on the sidewalk in front of the entry. This lone ZX-10R is relegated to the more remote motorcycle parking lot. This bike didn't have a license plate on it yet, but the tires were scuffed to the edges. Alex arrives at the Kansas City HD assembly Plant. I was stunned at the total filth of the M2's motor. I thought this bike was in California prior to departure.? Would have expected it to leave the state clean. Did Ferris take another day off? Alex thought he sent it there early to get a paint job like this... Alex (right) with Jeff Griswold. Jeff hosted Alex at his house for 2 nights. Phil Swope, our host at the plant tour and a great guy, signs the RANE tank. Remind Alex to tell you the story of how these two guys are connected. The RANE Cyclone and 2 escorts. Later in the day Jeff took Alex to have a new tire installed, donated by the KC Central BRAG chapter. Alex is a young man doing a great thing and touching alot of hearts along the way. Even the coppers seem to be impressed judging by the pace he has been able to maintain without a ticket. GO ALEX GO! edited by tripper on July 29, 2004 |

great pics! This is such a great story. I am glad I could be a part of it. Great to see the KC crowd stepped up, and showed him a good time, AND provided the new rear tire. Badwebbers are great people! Good luck Alex, ride like the wind!!! |

GREAT pix, Tripper - thanks!!! I was stunned at the total filth of the M2's motor. I thought this bike was in California prior to departure.? Would have expected it to leave the state clean. Did Ferris take another day off? har har, did you happen to notice the shine on the aluminum air filter plate? that was about all i could muster, as Alex started some serious squirming when he saw me approaching with "Mothers" in hand, figuring i guess that if i really got going he'd NEVER make it to Newf's Land. i agree with Bad Billy Bartimus: we are lucky to be a part of such a great story. Well, I've made it to Grand Rapids, MI, currently at Matt's place, having a few brews and catching up with all that has gone on in the past few weeks. We scrolled through all the pictures, and I tried to add all of the commentary I could... There are so many stories to tell already... It looks as if my departure to Newfoundland is going to be pushed back one day, Matt and I are going to get together with some old friends tomorrow afternoon in Detroit, and I want to be there for that. The point of the trip is the trip itself, and who I'm with along the way. Bill R and I will be landing in Newfoundland Monday morning instead of Sunday. Thanks for all of the pics and words, it's still taking a lot to digest all that I've seen and experienced in the past few days, along with the great friends I've made. Just wait for the 'tale' when I return to PA... Alex |

Alex, Greetings from California! Please give our regards to Matt. BTW, seems you timed your trip thru the desert rather poorly. The daily high temps in Death Valley are supposedly dropping down to a more temperate 114 deg F, or so. I'm looking forward to reading your trip tales when this is all over. Dino |

I DID! I DID! The only thing that held me together was all that Ferris dust I'd been eating all weekend! I noticed Jerry looked more than a little frazzled too and seemed REAL happy to get under the AC a sippen those good margaritas. Gota do this again Alex, but maybe when its a bit cooler next time. Had a great time. Ride fast & safe Alex. Glenn |

FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!! I hope we can hook up some time, somehow. You can stay with us. Our lives are in an uproar right now. We are in an apartment and we are trying to close on a new house. But you are still welcome. If we get into the new house it will be really cool. If you would like to crash at our house in Nashua you can have it all to yourself. It is empty, pretty much. The kitchen is torn up. but the fridge works. The pool is cool, phone is on, cable is minimum but on. There are a couple of air mattresses, sheets, and blankets. It ain't fancy but its yours if you'd like some time to yourself. We can work out getting you a key. You are welcome to it. Check your e-mail for more.} |

Yes this is the older Bart who can't wait to see his brother again. A warm wind comes blowing from the west, in the pale light of a blue moon all await the return of Bartimus Maximus.
