I am 6'4'' and 267lbs my girl and i are going for a ride soon and i am afraid to take any clothes. With both of us in full riding gear we are close to the 400lb limit, i already have my stock spring turn all the way up havent messed with dampening, but i was wondering if anyone knew if u can go over the 400lb limit and by how much u can go over. Want to take a long trip but need to take clothes. Thank guys |

Perhaps you might have an more enjoyable vacation by driving to a nice area, and then renting a touring bike for a week or so. Many Harley dealers, among others, do short term bike rentals. I think your lady will thank you. edited by gentleman_jon on July 28, 2004 |

get '04 passenger peg brackets (flipped side to side)and the touring pillion seat and its not bad. If you do as much two-up riding as I do, which is 95% of the time, get a better seat made than either the stock or the touring pillion seat. As for the weight, I don't think your bike is going to collapse under you, but I do imagine that if you do much riding at or over the limit your shock and spring will just wear pre-maturely. |
