Alex - Very cool! Yeh, don't fret about the black Stich, like Court said, I have one too and live here in So. Cal! Plenty of vents and do use the ice in the pocket trick. It's amazing how long your T-shirt will stay wet and cool under the Stich after you soak it under a water tap - air conditioning on two wheels. Hey, looking forward to seeing you! Denise |

Going to be a lot of black geared riders on the first leg then. Mine's black too but not Stitch. The wet T thing works good but I never thought of ice. I rode through the Willow Springs, Mojave, Lancaster area this last weekend and was quite comfortable without any of the trickery. But it wasn't 107! McKittrick?!!! Its actually cooler than normal MOST places around here this year. I'm looking forward to this. Glenn |

You should be fine wearing black. Just drink lots and lots of water. The camel back will be a life saver when you reach Las Vegas. It has been reaching the 100+ here on average. |

In a strange twist of fate... I was flagged by the TSA this morning at Baltimore/Washington International, and subsequently missed my flight. They took GREAT notice to all of the gear, tools etc. that I had packed and asked a whole lot of questions. So plan D or whatever it is... I'll be leaving Sunday morning, at the same time as the rest of the family for the adventure to California and overnighting some of my 'stuff' to San Diego. It's a minor setback, but we'll get through it. Ferris, expect a call alter this evening when your minutes are cheaper... See the left coast in two days now! Alex |

I am here now, hanging out with my grandparents in Anaheim. We're off in about 10 minutes to hopefully pick up the Buell in Dan Diego... I have never done so much running around in my life to try to pick up a bike. Guess it's adding to the adventure though. Hopefully everything goes as planned for the next day or so. Alex |

Alex -- Stand Tall, brother -- you are an avatar of how things should be, that is, folks taking care of each other . . . . good luck on your ride, give a shout if ya need any assistance within 500 mikes of Chicago (I'm in the data base here, truck, tools, dealers, couches, and like that) if memory serves, you'll not be I-80 through Illinois, which is a blessing -- construction has it really really hosed I'd say good luck, but you already got all the good wishes one can carry -- you're doin us proud, sir! |

Alex; have a fantastic and safe trip. Don't move faster than your soul and guardian angel can keep up. The Journey will indeed be more important than the destination, so make sure you see it through your minds eye and not just through a camera lens or trip plan. Don't waste time keeping us posted. Make the Badwebbers you meet along the way do that for you. But give us your full story when you get back. Best of luck and thanks for your effort. Henrik |

and Dino, none of this sleeping downstairs stuff! - One of the twins in the spare room has your name on it - though we did figure out the deck is a pretty spectacular place for snoozing when the house was full over the 4th of July weekend (that is if you like to be lulled to sleep by singing crickets) - your choice bud. and FB.... right backatcha.

Alex just called from Disneyland! that's the good news, the iffy news is that his JB2-custom painted gas tank (formerly of the Thong) is "somewhere" between Philadelphia and here, with the Brown Truck Folks promising that it WILL be delivered to Anaheim tomorrow... FMJ and friend, Unibear, Jim A., Dino, Bartimus, and anybody else waiting for news, i'll get an e-mail out yet tonight or FIRST thing tomorrow morning with the info you each need. we're still on for a Friday 0430 launch from the ThunderDome, ETA noon-ish at Las Vegas H-D Buell, and ETA late afternoon arrival at Best Western/Zion Nat'l Park. more to come, Ferris |

FB & D - See ya Thursday evening (unless some disaster occurs in the mean time). I've got to spend time in the office Friday, but I think I'll take you up on that bed is it's still available. As early as you're leaving I'll still get a full day at the grindstone in...if absolutely necessary. See y'all soon. |

Ferris, The tank has arrived, need ot gas up and go out for a little bit of a break in run. I'll see how that goes, and give you a call. Plan D,E or what ever I'm currently on may work the best- meeting tomorrow morning. We're getting ready for lunch, and I wouldn't be able to leave until probably 5 or 6, making for a ride in the dark, in lots of traffic, in a totally new place. Disneyland was an excellent time, the highlight of which, was getting my 84 year old Grandmother to ride the California Screamin' rollercoaster. It took a bit to get her in the car and all, she's not all that flexible anymore, but she loved the ride once we got going, and got a ton of high fives and stuff from some of the others waiting in line. Good times, great family. I'll be adding lots more people to my list of Buell family as this gets going... FMJ, It's early, but we have a lot of ground to cover! Alex |

The scary thing about this photo is that, hard as it may be to believe, FB has not yet had even a single drop of alcohol. Cheryl's Diner, Kernville California. Unwinding at the Thunderdome. This must be relatively early in the evening...note that a lengthy walk to the cooler is still considered acceptable. |
