LOL...had nothing to do with the power, at least in my case. The important thing is, I walked away from it, learned from it, and it makes an entertaining story! -=came across pictures from the Gap a few days ago, including ones with the infamous necklace=- |

Here's a thought: Last night I saw a neighborhood couple zipping around on their brand new scooter, then I thought of this discussion thread, then I thought about what the Blast was supposed to be, then I thought about how the MoCo wanted to bring new people into their fold, then I wondered what Buell could do with a Scooter concept, then I thought I'd post those thoughts here. My newest 2005 Buell guess is: a scooter, 250cc (or 253.7cc, or 219.8cc), with a larger model coming out three months later at 378cc (rounded up to be called the Big400). The first model will be called The TwoFiftyFlyer. It will be a twin oil cooled engine. It will come with a thermos mount that will only hold a custom orange and black java thermos/drinking jug. Initial colors will be orange, orange/black, and green/black. Estimated 75mpg fuel efficiency, 6-speed tranny, 750Lb passenger/cargo/payload/rider capacity, and will accept Softtail quick-release luggage. The initial commercial slots on television will be blended scenes from the LaughIn show mixed with shots of Elton John at The 100th. YesSirEeeBob, a scooter will be it for 2005. I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

MikeJ...Don't think the scooter is a viable alternative for Buell. Reference Court's post about how expensive tooling would be for "Hard Bags and Fairings" to make a sport tourer. Then again, the concept and those names are absolutely hilarious!!! |

Sometimes if you just act like you know where you're going, you get to go places you wouldn't normally get to go. If you act like you belong where you are, most of the time you get treated like you belong where you are. |

I guess the hints point towards an XB12S Low. Which would make my short little legs very happy! Oh yeah, and hello all. This is a "first post" from a lurker of this board. I've been reading along for a few weeks now and really enjoying the discussion. I don't yet have a Buell but its sure on the "short list". A brilliant design, IMHO. About the name... my first bike, many moons ago, was a Yamaha RD350, and I have an old Vespa 180 even today. So please excuse my blue smoke... (cough). Heh. Hey Erik, you out there? XB12SL... XB12SL... Xb12SL... |

Tommy, I guess the hints point towards an XB12S Low. Which would make my short little legs very happy! FYI... Even if there's no 12SL on the market for '05, you can buy the XB9SL low seat and put it on the 12S. You'll lower your seating position by about 1" but without having to jack with the suspension. http://www.buell.com/en_us/products/apparelaccessories/productslist.asp?Menu_ID= 4&ID=1935&MITEM=77 Cheers! Buell must be sealed up tighter than Fort Knox. This time last year, UK's MCN already had released lousy photo of red XB12S. Can't somebody Photoshop a cool fake spy photo for us? I know, a Buell cruiser! That would be SOOOOO wrong... |
