hey guys -

My brother (lives out in L.A.) went canyon riding with some friends last weekend and was hanging out at a popular spot when up rides Jay Leno on a blue XB9R...he said Leno was raving about what a great-handling bike it was and how much fun it was in the canyons...from what my bro described, sounds like he may have had a TiForce exhaust, though I could be wrong - his Buell knowledge (my bro's) isn't too great.

I'm not a big Leno fan, but I thought it was cool to have such a high profile person talking about the XB9R in such a positive way

Leno owns an XB12. Got it a year ago from Hals race shop who shipped it to Glendale.

I thought I'd read somewhere that he had a 12...but I was told this one was blue/orange, so I assumed it was a 9

If he got it from Hals, maybe it has the same Blue / Grey color scheme as the race bikes.

It was red & black when it went out. But may have been custom painted at Glendale.

Ever seen pics or heard of his collection? I think he has a jet turbine bike as just one of dozens of motos.

No, I mean red with the black frame.
The black frame is what distinguishes the 12 from the 9.

Dark Grey...

Leno has the "Y2K" bike that uses a Rolls Royce Turbine engine. When I got to see his collection at the Del Mar concourse several years ago it showed up in 3 semi trucks. Most of his collection are stock bikes, but several of the mild customs he has are very nice. He really doesn't have any radical customs but he does have a few 70's ish racing Superbikes including IIRC one of the Moriwaki Kawasaki's that got banned from racing and a TZ750 dirttrack bike.
