I canīt see 118ftlbs/112hp @ 2500. I see 118ftlbs @3850 and 102hp @5500. Obviously this engine runs out of air starting at around 4500rpm. Check Your heads and intake tract (especially the carb) on the flow bench. Still a nice toy Best regards |

I think Mikel was saying 112Lbs/ft at 2500. I think his point was that this bike has a LOT of torque down low... You're right though, it does look like it runs out of air... I wonder if that's the classic 45 degree problem creeping in or not. I wonder what it would do with stage III Nallin heads... I also suspect that intake tract and filters. Doesn't seem to be enough volume in there if you ask me. Maybe the Dyno was done w/o them though? I still say it doesn't breath well enough though. I was expecting about 125HP out of this. |

Nice dyno graph! What are the engine specs again? (cams, compression) |

Wow, that is some serious down low power. Talk about effortless wheelies. Let us know how you do at the races. |

I seriously wonder how it would deal with a down draft dual throat webber carb for say a toyota or datsun 1600 engine...work up a semi highrise manifold and bolt it on that way... |

Impressive but I don't like the crossover - not enough HP when the torque drops off the cliff... And I would expect when tuned that this engine should be more than capable of 125 hp... Hold onto those handlebars! |

420at145mph, Yep it is....... MikeJ, thanks for posting the graph The problem is not the air (we will check Twice) but the fuell, it's emptying the carb....... |

At This Dyno we still have a wheel slip of 15% on the dyno First we had 40% wheelslip, But when I was sitting on the back en pushing with my arms to the seeling very hard (still feel the pain) we still had 15% slip |

LOL . That would certainly cause it as well. Maybe try a five gallon bucket of fuel poured over the top of the engine as you hit 4000? |

420at145mph, www.bikehospital.nl is the builder, you should ask him... about the cost.. Things There are in Heads are ported but ports are kept relative "small", slightly bigger valves. compression 10.8:1 Red shift 585 cams Honda 48mm CV carb of a VTR1000, a custom header with a twin inlet borla. We used Baisley valves , black daimond tulipstyle, multi angle. some related topics with Pictures http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/60871.html http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/42632.html#POST259668

420at145mph, we normally get around 100 to 105rwhp with the following combination: XB12, stock cams, heads ported keeping stock valves, optimized throttle body , FAST intake system, open exhaust. Thatīs it. In some days I will know where a big bore XB9 will end. Best regards. |

Easyrider, thats why I suggested the downdraft weber. If it flows enough fuel to feed a racing 1600 datsun or toyota it should feed enough fuel for this engine. |
