Sorry guys, between a day at the dyno, Racing at the weekend and my day job, life is a little full these past 4 days. [EDIT, let me quailfy this statement a little better!!] Just to keep you hurting longer - All the systems tested increased peak hp and/or filled the midrange hole to varing degrees. ...... I witnessed as much as 6 hp peak and more in the midrange. Im trying to get the data into some order for presentation and comment by the suppliers. Mark edited by englishman119 on June 22, 2004 |

M1 - remember that Mark is doing his tests on a race-kitted XB9R. The gains on a 12 will almost certainly be different. I cannot remember - are you using a XB12 airbox on any of these tests, Mark? |

Certainly Darthane, but isn't the velocity stack shape the same on the 12 and 9? Maybe the one on the 9 a little taller? |

Yes, I was using 9, 12 or whatever the supplier did/didn't need in the way of airboxes. |

The shape, as far as I know, is the same, but the intake is larger on the 12 (49mm vs 45mm), and the 12s already come with the cone thingy in the airbox, which seems to be an aftermarket addition to at least one if not more of the stacks. Anyways, my points being 1) an XB9 velocity stack will not fit a 12 and 2) due to the airbox shape difference, I doubt that any gains would be as great. But, that's really just conjecture on my part, so take it as you will. |
