Stevie: Take the pic right after when you just turn key and flip the switch... both of them make a full turn. Just a matter of timing to take the pic at the right time. |

I've watched mine bounce well over 8K on the drag strip a couple times - but that was in 2nd or third gear, so nowhere near 145mph! The stock XB muffler, by the way, actually sounds REALLY sweet running WOT down the track. |

Don't you guys know that all vehicles go as fast as the speedo goes up to? It's funny how many customers come in, look at the speedo and say "wow, these will go 160 mph" Ride to the edge! Dave daves@h-dappleton.com 920-757-1651

Man the school systems have let down so many americans....... Dave tell them yeah it does......but don't tell them that it may have to be dropped out of a plane to get that fast. |

On the topic of over revving. There is a BadWeber who has a programmable ECM and that person informed me that you can program that rev limiter. I also seem to recall this person telling me that they bumped it up and dyno'd it and it kept on going (as far as the dyno numbers). |

Yes, but for how long? I'm sure that is one reason that box isn't available to the general public. Ride to the edge! Dave |

Well, the racers run with it set at 8000 or something like that, don't they? I'm sure a stock XB9 could handle an 8K limit, but then I'm also sure that Buell had a good reason for setting it at 7500 and not giving backyard junkies the ability to set their rev limit at 9K and blow up their engine, then bitch about needing a new one. |

jeez, you can tell thats a race-rep bike, the tach is definitely the dominating feature in that dash. and a shift light, kewl "sorry officer, i just couldnt read the speedometer when the sun was glancing off it...." |

When I first glanced at that pic, I thought the "select" knob read "eject"! Probably appropriate at 180mph... shoot you 100 feet in the air and trigger the 'chute. |

Words to the wise for those with electronic computer speedos: learn to quickly reset the max-speed memory when turning off the bike if stopping for blue light specials, or have a receipt in your pocket from a recent track day. Just something I heard recently through the grapevine. Evidence is evidence, and is often only a button push away. |

None of my motorcycles have that feature. A couple of the bicycles do but they rarely exceed the speed limit (but I'm working on getting them to). Let's just say some folks are receiving additional training in creative writing and evidential procurrence. |

How about 22,000 rpm with an Australian Drysdale 1000cc V8? Now that's howling! I'm going to get one! Have to wait about another 6 months though. 220-240 HP. This engine also only weighs in at 114 lbs.! |
