Being capable of understanding the viewpoints of both sides of a conflict doesn't mean I have to agree with either side. But it might mean my opposition to the side of the aggressor who targets innocent civilians is based on rational self interest and moral clarity. Ironically, I've read the Quran and a few Hadiths, far more material studied than I have the Torah. That's probably because I read Sun Tzu and prefer to try and understand the Enemy that openly promises to murder me and enslave me, as opposed to the moral foundation of a faith I was raised in, and generally agree with. Especially when the Religious writings of certain ancient nomadic tribes, while a biased, bloody history, don't specify the excuse of Divine Revelations to enslave me. Unlike their sworn enemies. Even with that simple enlightened self interest, I understand that not every member of a given Cult is so onboard with the insane desires of their leaders. It's more complex. Because I also understand the creators of those cults, specifically Marxism and Mohammedism, were Fundamentally Dishonest and designed their cults to brainwash and use the brainwashed mobs as Armies to steal and keep Power over others. On a much smaller local scale, I don't know how much I disagree with the 2022 NY Governor candidate Lee, but I do know that his opposition, ( and winner ) Kathy both joked about the assassination attempt on Lee, by one of her followers, and is extremely Dishonest and totalitarian, authoritarian, and openly hostile to any who oppose her. Including telling her critics to Leave Her State. That's a pretty easy choice there, eh? | ||
