You can disagree on which comic style you prefer. The dry "Ever notice you find your keys in the last place you look?" Observational humor of Jerry always struck me as George Carlin on drugs. The kind they give patients in mental hospital so they are semi conscious but still find the bathroom. Not the fun kind. Donald is like Andrew Dice Clay without the swearing. Far too early to assume anything about the shooter, or anything else. If it was indeed a Russian Agent posing as a Ukrainian, as TP suggests, then I'm all in favor of FAFO. At least a strongly worded letter. And full confiscation of all Putin's assets. Ditto a Palestinian Activist from Harvard. It's been a minute youn's. I fully know that 95+ percent here on BW lean to the right, and that TPhat is nothing but a shhhit sturrer, starting with his own brew. It's interesting to read his entries, predictable, but still just BS. I know, love and value you all as friends, fellow riders, and yes, true patriot Americans. I deplore this act of violence against Donald Trump. What we must all strive for is a better common unity, to preserve our democracy. Somehow we MUST find common ground. Maybe I'm a relic, but I'm still a centrist... I miss Ross Perot. Red or blue, or some shade of the two, let us all do better for this country and make progress for us all. I got this e-mail this Morning: - July 13th, 2024 - I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. I know that sounds contradictory, but it's not, it's the normal and often repeated pattern. Eyewitness are notoriously unreliable, ( see gorilla test ) but with everyone, repeating a story triggers learning and memory changes. If I see a car crash, my initial report is raw data from memory, without additional processing. The more I tell the story the more details get remembered, but some are false as the brain processes both the memory and the report of the memory, and additional thought process. True example, saw car ahead of me slam on brakes, lose control, skid off road, trip/flip, roll, end up on roof in median. Didn't count number of rolls, was busy braking hard initially to avoid collision, clearly recall thinking "wtf?" but no further analysis of event as I switched to First Responder mode and pulled off pavement, focused on avoiding traffic hitting ME, getting out and running to help. The next few minutes were a series of trained and practiced response/ decision trees, watching for hazards, ( is fuel tank ruptured? Fire? More cars getting involved? Blood? Terrain? ) all at a run and triggering next action. ( will skip to end, no one seriously injured ) Only after, was it Obvious that the driver had missed her exit and panic braked and froze. And the thought that the next exit was only a few miles away, opinions on driver's mental state ( from interaction at crash site ) before crash ( post crash driver brain rattled and in unusual situation. Might be supergenius accountant otherwise, right after trauma, idiot. This is from long experience. Also training. ) only happens later, ongoing restructuring of thinking. Thus the BBC interview with bearded Maga hat guy is fairly fresh, but already altered by repetition, ( he's already talked to police and friends ) and should be evaluated on that basis. While the reporters on scene can be expected to give biased sub cave man responses like "Loud Noises" ugh! And ignore dead and wounded people to spin and perform on camera. I'm trained to rescue people drowning. They're trained to look pretty telling people there's people drowning. Thus you should be skeptical, and remember the SEQUENCE of reports as much as What's Said. "Shooter dead" or "Shooter arrested and now out of sight" ? Don't know, need more data. Antifa? Mark Violets? Type of weapon? All maybes. Maybe true & will change with coverup, maybe wrong, and straightened out later See what they say later, and remember what they said earlier. | ||

Yes, he poses a threat to the democracy and personal freedoms Americans are supposed to hold dear (Project 2025 in that sense comes off as very un-American to me), but those disagreements should be litigated in the political arena, not through political violence. As for Tpehak, I think his contributions are so completely worthless that this forum would be much better off without him. He's either a Russian troll or someone who's fallen for Russian propaganda.
