So, sometime ago - like YEARS - I ordered a couple of XB muffler clamps from St. Paul Buell.
The last time I replied to the last Email I received (likely about 2 years ago or so) to inquire when I might be receiving them, I got no response.
Last night after work walking to my XB12XT my phone rings. I look at the caller ID and it says St. Paul Buell. OF COURSE, I'm gonna answer this call!
Julian from St. Paul Buell was calling to ask if I ever received the muffler clamps I ordered! I told him no and he said that he had plenty there and would get them on the way to me. While he was on the phone, I (seeming to recall seeing them on their website north of $300) asked if OE drive belts for Uly's were still available. He said yes, they are. He said he could give me a good deal on a belt. I asked if I'd be able to get 2 belts and he said yes. He did give me a really good deal!
We talked for a while during the call and he wanted to let me know - which is why I am letting you all know - that he is a motivated Buell guy! The conversation was great, like talking with someone I've known for years and his motivation was clearly exhibited.
I think our phone call ended with something like: "Just remember, don't call me when you need money for bail, call me when you need parts for your Buell!"
Later yesterday I received tracking links and a promo code - allowed 2 times to use - so it was such a great experience. Knowing what St. Paul Buell once was, and appears to be again!
I ordered a motor mount a couple of months ago. I found St Paul only motivated by greed, judging by their prices. I didn't speak to Julian, or anyone though.
Ok, this is going to sound like 'meh' and it's not, but please explain to me the differences between these 2024s and my 2014s. Other than what used to referred to as BNG (Bold New Graphics) by the cycle mags. Or in this case bodywork.
They are using at least some new parts according to what they have posted. Bodywork material and design has changed somewhat.
The big question is if they will eventually make real upgrades to the powertrain and chassis. I am surprised they have not added ABS to the bikes which would allow them to be sold in Europe. EBR supposedly had this designed prior to closure.
