My ancestors didn't capture and use dark skinned slaves. Still an evil act. Never mind it was mutual between the islands and the only reason they didn't is there weren't any dark skinned folk local in the 5th Century. I'd bet if there were Chinese or Nigerians in what's now Great Britain then, they'd have been happy to load them on the boats. It's a Democrat Party thing to be racist about the slave problem, inherited from the Brits who sold them. Excuses for that evil are pretty much the same as when South Carolina rejected the Union before Lincoln's Inauguration. Or a hundred years before that, when the slave owning states representatives delayed the Declaration of Independence to change the wording to allow them to keep slavery. See the play 1776 and especially the song about rum etc. In the Americas, after the Brits colonized the sugar producing islands, is when the "race" thing got tied into slavery. Before & during & today, the Arab slavers in North Africa took/take slaves of all available races, and it was just the British trade that insisted on dark skin. I'm not going to pick on the Brits of the era exclusively for racism. ( or American Democrats ) It's an ongoing thing in many places, and it isn't limited to skin color. But your argument that because I don't specify every race of the Religious group that takes and sells, and uses slaves, Today, invalidates the truth of the statement, is a logical fallacy and dishonest.
