One such trace is the Confederate flag, as seen on an orange Dodge Charger. Today, that flag is a censored evil reminder of a slave trade and the subject of lies by the spiritual descendants of the slave owners. ( who accuse Abraham Lincoln of being racist ) A few years ago, before the former flag wavers started tearing down statues of their Confederate Heroes to try to Erase their own shameful history, the Confederate battle flag was often flown as a rebellious symbol against tyrannical government. You could argue those people are insensitive, or ignorant, or deliberately provocative. ( I'd argue that the ignorant part is variable. Some are public school ignorant of history, but some are well aware of their history, and often far better informed than an Ivy league professor. ) ( knowing & believing Commie Lies isn't well informed ) I would not raise a Confederate flag, both because my birthplace was a haven for escaping slaves, and not involved in the Civil War, ( also before my time, and most of my immigrant ancestors arrival here ) and because my rebellion against tyranny is rooted in a later terrorist slave state era. And Not much later. The span of time between Jefferson Davis ( KKK founder and President of The Confederacy ) & Lenin is not even one lifetime. But objectively rating the Evil of the Confederate and Soviet flags and regimes, show numbers of enslaved and murdered are very lopsided. And the Civil Wars in America and Russia were won by opposite sides. I'm not excusing the Confederate States. I'm against slavery across the board, from the ( still operating ) Arab slave trade to Europeans ( And later American Democrat Southerners ) to today's Obama/Biden* supported child labor and sex slave operations. ( I'll hypocritically ignore my own ancestor's taking of English & European slaves in violent raiding parties. But I'm not ignorant of, or in denial. ) My opinion and reaction to someone flying a Confederate flag is a bit negative, considering context with far better nuance and honesty than the Ivy league. And my opinion and reaction to someone flying a Soviet or CCP, or Hamas flag is rational earned defensive caution based on the Actual Threat to me and humanity. The Confederacy isn't coming back. The Cults of authoritarianism, are here, now. And have proven that their murderous fundamental dishonesty has not changed or acquired any positive nuance. | ||

I'm a negative measuring type. I'm anti-Democrat Party because of the racism, ( centuries ) anti-Semitism ( ditto ) and Communism. ( a bit over a century and plummeting into the inner circles of Hell On Earth. aka Our Democracy ( reg trademark DNC ) ) I'm aware of the grand history of the Abolitionist Republicans. Freeing slaves, isolationist, pro Capitalism. But it's not the Party of Lincoln anymore. It's also the Only Alternative to the Klan Party. Darn it. And Prohibition shows that Abolitionists want to Abolish... And when slavery stopped being a worthy cause... ( because they Won at the immense cost of lives ) that impulse gets pointed elsewhere, not always in a good direction. Ultimately people worth listening to are Individuals who aren't puppets of a Party. Fetterman may be the Best Democrat in D.C. I'm not going to agree with probably most of his beliefs, but on the subject of the Nazi/Hamas fans in his Party, he's right. It would be easy to joke about how a brain damaged fashion rebel is a better human being than most of his fellow Congresscritters. Personally, I rather enjoy how his fashion rebellion triggers the Herd Mentality folk stuck in 19th century costuming customs. If I was one of his constituents, I'd send him tie dyed sweats. | ||

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime. In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: Do you know how to catch wild pigs? The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said that it was no joke. You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity. The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America. The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time. One should always remember two truths: There is no such thing as a free lunch, and you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself. If you see that all of this wonderful government "help" is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life, then you will probably delete this email. But, God help us all when the gate slams shut! Maybe not tomorrow, but the murders have begun, perhaps semi-unintentionally, just a "fun beating" turned into first degree murder, and there will be more. And mass melee combat with the traditional hand ( manual ) martial arts weapons was my hobby for years... Of course "I'm too old for this s#$%" applies now,  but my Sifu back last century was very into the ethical and spiritual aspects. Survivor of the U.S. Army in Vietnam, he'd completely grasp the "Wolf, sheep, sheepdog" metaphor for capacity for & intent of violence. When we reached the state of learning Tai Chi that went beyond broken bones and into lethal force, he was very concerned we'd understand the ramifications and ethos behind the knowledge. Great teacher Mr. Hall. You're missed. And he was dead serious about it, including ( paraphrase, it's been decades ) "I'm going to teach you this technique so you can defend against it. If you ever use it, I will testify against you in court that it was murder, since you know better ways to disable someone, and there's no excuse." No, I won't describe it. And besides "sheepdog" ethics, we got brutally practical teaching on multiple attacker scenarios. Beyond angles and movement, there is mob psychology. Take out the leader and keep going until they break and run. Then stop, and leave. Years later I got involved in SCA armored fighting, full contact, but with restrictive rules to keep the injuries down. We use simulated edged weapons, a "sword" is rattan with a color coded "blade" etc. Mass weapons. And friendly, controlled violence. Lots of tournaments, but my favorite was melee. So... My reaction to mob violence is not going to be pretty, if I ever screw up so bad I get caught in it. In the real world, the winners are in the hospital. Your odds of surviving a group out to beat you to death don't improve by curling into a ball and taking it. And it's not the 14th century. It's not maces and arrows anymore. As these sponsored and planned so called protests expand this next year, the chances of a mass casualty event approach certainty. | ||

But it's undeniable that in medieval Europe if you were homosexual, The Church was a safe haven... Well, safer than most medieval towns. Still an underground, unspoken thing, like the Clinton DADT military insanity. Unfortunately, a hidden sexual agenda place, where open discussion is taboo, also attracts other "non standard" deviants. And The Church's position has long been that your internal desires and kinks are spiritual matters, and it's not sin unless you act. ( lotta hidden sin in there ) Thus you may lust after your neighbor's wife, or sheep, or children, and if it's just thinking? See a shrink or pastor if you want. Or suffer in silence. ( a very popular view back then ) Self control. Not a lot of self control being taught today. I'm not saying the dishonest racist token Claudine is for child rape. But those roles are largely optional for adults, and until Magik becomes real or technology allows molecular level alterations in reality ( think Star Trek transporter tech medical techniques ) the harsh reality is you get what you got. And those hypothetical techniques using science fiction technobabble, would be the biggest breakthrough since antibiotics. Genetic diseases, and genetic flaws, like poor eyesight and Crohn's disease, could be both cured, and eliminated from the gene pool. Theoretically. With magic. Eternal youth, limb regeneration, even actually changing sex, might be treatments of tomorrow. But today, we have mortal bodies that have flaws that our medical techniques can't yet change. ( I will have to eat those words if the mRNA tech vaccines actually make everyone who took them into ( insert fantasy here ) or crispr tech becomes so powerful ) I'm not quite cynical enough, yet, to buy the entire trans craze is a Big Pharma plot to make Trillion$ treating desperately ill and mutilated people who need lifetime treatments with expensive drugs to survive. My only predictions for 2024, that I'd bet on, are... I'm going to spend more money on silly toys I don't really need. ( a buddy thinks I need a vintage Honda 350... ) I'm going to be angered by the so called news. Yeah, Madonna is famous for her tactic of using outrage to sell her work, almost as much as she's rightly famous for her talent. Iirc, Rush Limbaugh said she had to use a toilet on stage to top her then show, but Rush too was playing a part in the "outrage sells" game, and probably being fuddy duddy cranky too. And lots of music personalities have used "upset your parents" as a marketing ploy. Some were decent bands. I don't know how Madonna is doing, performance speaking, but if wants to strut on stage and sing from a crane? You go girl! Honesty compels me to admit envy, I wish I was in good enough shape to dance on a platform, instead of struggling to get off one. Lots of old rockers out there on tour trying to pay the bills, ( and back taxes, child support, and that hotel lawsuit from '86 ) and I'm generally in favor. It does suck when your old favorite bands are down to one original member, or are painfully struggling with aging voices and arthritis. But if ( your band here ) wants to tour again, I might want to go. Related, my kid sister is going to a Punk Reunion ( hardcore Ramones fan ) and they had to change the start time from 10pm to 7pm because the fans need their sleep.... | ||

https://instapundit.com/625253/ Disney Day Drinkers club. My mom has been a frequent guest at Disney World, all but once for work, entertaining customers and attending conferences. Then she took her adult children there in a belated trip, and we had a good time. Epcot, especially, is an Adult playground with food & alcohol from around the world. Mom, being an Epcot veteran, planned our day as a clockwise circuit of the park, around the central lake, with dinner reservations at the English pub on deck to watch the fireworks. And a VIP trip through her company's Redacted building, where we rested with refreshments on leather lounge chairs in air conditioned comfort, until we were ready to take the ride, where we bypassed the unwashed masses and got on our own tram/car with zero waiting. Even without the VIP part, the basic idea of planning Epcot around dinner at the English pub ( just counter clockwise from the exit ) was a great experience. And if you're a drinker? Arrange a ride back to your hotel, and Epcot rocks. French wine, Belgian beer, Japanese whiskey, it's the U.N. as it was meant to be. Of course it's the heart of Evil corporate woke child exploitation, but it can be quite fun. The experience from a roller coaster fan, was that there's really only 3 rides ( in the 3 parks ) worth noting, Space Mountain, Arrowsmith Rocking Roller Coaster ( a linear accelerator ride with no hill, you get Shot into it like a rail gun projectile ) and the Tower of Terror, ( not a coaster ). Otoh, the lines have stuff to look at while you wait, the speed pass system they had when I went was great. Line 45 minutes long? Get a speed pass for an hour later and almost no wait. And you can shop for an hour! Genius! Disney really gets herding If you're a Coaster fan, make your pilgrimage to Cedar Point. But for drinks and dining? Epcot. | ||
