Think Canada moving a million settlers into Maine, voting to take power, and declaring Maine Canadian territory.
They are people of the Main in the first place, they live there. If the will of the people who live there is to join Canada then they will join Canada and people from Washington have no rights to dictate what people of Main should do, especially if those people from Washington violated the US constitution, just like people from Kiev violated the Ukranian constitution).
Like I said, you have no idea what happened in Ukraine and what you are talking about.
If you care who lies more, then you need to learn the history of the conflict to find out that the Ukrainian nazies lied most and for the evil purpose.
On the side note the Ukrainian nazies have no right to attack Russia so it does not matter what caused most of the damage, the missiles Ukrainian nazies launched toward Russia or the Russian AA missles tried to defend from the missiles. Another word the Ukrainian nazies and the ones who support them will pay for what happened no matter what what landed on the civilians on the Russian territory. So prepare for the conflict escalation if you are not going to provide what Russia demands.
Regarding nuking everyone else it is not a threat, it is inevitable consequence you were warned. Consider it as a storm forecast. You can escape the danger zone and stay alive or you can complain about the weather and call it the weather threatens you with the storm and just die when it happens if you stay where it happens. There is nothing you can do about it, this is straight fact about the event will kill you if you will doubt about it or will decide to play stupid, that's simple.
Poland has it's internal problems right now. Which makes it more dangerous in many ways.
While highly unlikely that Poland would start a war as a NATO member, the fact that it's pretty easy to get from Warsaw to Minsk and the really Bad Idea of quieting down the locals by fighting a quick and easy war keeps coming back, despite centuries of really bad examples...
But, of course, the Russian "congresscritter" saying Poland is next, is pure propaganda. Unless it's not. The only way to find out is wait. Or Poland takes back territory that was previously theirs.
In 1938, all the powers of Europe were getting started to get ready for a War in 1942.
All the main players. Including Germany.
Germany was ramping up production of Battleships that have a Long lead time, at least 2 years, and that's only if you already have the big guns in production. They were starting the Naval production race from behind, after repudiating the WW1 Treaty.
So Nobody was ready, including Germany, when Hitler saw the opportunity to jump the gun and roll on Western Europe after they got Poland without any solid resistance from the Big powers of France & the UK. ( Just as Putin got little pushback on Georgia and Crimea )
In the end, without the stockpiles the High Command knew were needed, and several really dumb, in hindsight, moves, Germany lost, but at tremendous cost.
Don't forget, Germany got losses in Poland they didn't admit, ( Like Vladimir last year ) and that delayed the assault on France, but both France & Britain were still just beginning the next generation of airplanes, and still were not ready as The Phony War jumped to Blitzkrieg.
Most historians point out 2 big "mistakes" that cost Germany the war.
1. The Battle of Britain started with the Luftwaffe targeting fighter bases and other airfields, and was within weeks of accomplishing the goal of hammering Fighter resistance for the scheduled Invasion of England.
Then Britain bombed Berlin. Ineffectively, no big or important damage, except to the psyche of the Leaders. In retaliation, the Terror bombing of London became priority, and the RAF was able to rebuild the fighter force and in the end, cost the Luftwaffe about half it's bomber & fighter forces. No air superiority, no invasion.
2. The Eastern Front. Timing, underestimating the enemy, and... Plenty of books on that.
.........
But there were missed opportunities that the German High Command may never have seen, or more likely were over ridden by politician's ambitions and attitudes.
If the Battle of Britain had been limited to small raids and not the existential threat that pushed the War into the American news cycle, ( famously on Radio ) then that might have delayed Aid to the Allies. ( We were committed after Dec. 7 anyway )
More importantly, if those bomber and fighter forces hadn't been wasted on bombing civilians and factories in a country Germany wasn't actually equipped or ready to invade, ( from lack of landing craft. Barges towed? Not great ) But instead sent them to help Rommel in Africa, then Egypt would have fallen, it was that close. And with the Suez canal, and a free shot around the end of the Med, Germany would have the oil reserves of the Middle East, and been able to loop around to take the Balkans from both sides, and the rest of the broken up Ottoman Empire including the Ploesti Oil refineries, with ample oil, and food supplies.
Plus, shipping from India and the Far East would have been forced into slower routes around South Africa, with both weather, and the danger of commerce raiding greatly increased. ( Think German Cruisers sallying from what's now Iran and the UK forced to fight both The Battle of The Atlantic ( and both North & South instead of mostly the U.S/Canada - UK routes ) And the Battle of The Indian Ocean. ( Which was almost nothing in real life )
It's remotely possible, Germany could have outright won Europe & N Africa, and eventually all of it. Especially if Churchill had lost power when Egypt was lost. A Chamberlain second Government might have gone for a peace treaty, which Hitler would have preferred in the first place.
All before 1942. No U.S. involvement in Europe. No ( or years delayed ) Manhattan Project under the threat of Nazi Germany?
All it would have taken is one smart guy convincing Hitler it was the winning play.
Remember, the Current Putin's War was based on a couple of false assumptions. ( Obvious now )
1. The Russian military wasn't as well equipped or functional as the Generals Lied to Putin they were. Some of the Generals probably thought they Were ready, but those were luckily the idiots who died early. The Ones who Knew Better, just lied. CYA. & Don't Dare tell the Truth to Putin.
2. A corrupt and ill equipped Ukraine would fall in days. Actually a fair guess...
Except after the Iron Curtain fell, Ukraine had developed small businesses with the laid off Aerospace workers, and thus there were dozens of little, unimportant, shops busy making hang gliders, ultralights, camera drones, e-bikes, etc.
Imagine turning the Elves loose on military fringe stuff.
Plus a big wave of ammo and sanctions from the West.
I admit I'm still perplexed by the Obama/Biden* response to Putins' War. I'd have thought Barry was a Putin ally and been happy to let him have Ukraine. Maybe Joe's* idiotic "don't invade too much" statement was garbled orders from Barry that Jill messed up on purpose? To protect the Ukrainian bribe train?
Those discussions in the Obama D.C. Fortress would be fascinating to hear.
What do you mean "Poland would start a war"? With who? Why?
If you mean it is going to be Russia related war, then Poland already started this war providing to the Ukrainian nazi the weapon and logistics for the military resources.
If Poland is going to share the fields and airports for the Ukrainian F16s then of cause those airports are going to be eliminated by Russia. Russia warned about this long time ago and everybody knows about it. Russia does not care if it is Poland or somebody else, Russia will eliminate anyone who will dare to attack the Russian territory and Russian citizens.
