So apostrophes are punctuation supremacy victims?!

Which browser? I'm using Brave on my basement/game setup. CCP and Hydra Alphabet's Google Chrome spyware evil one upstairs, just to compare.

Brave cuts out ads, which is nice, and supposedly doesn't spy on you, besides the home screen that displays how much it blocked.

Both are at heart rip offs of Netscape. I mean evolution from...

Did the Veep* make a Freudian slip? ( telling the truth by accident ) Or just well demonstrated lack of ability to speak in intelligent sentences?

The first is right in line with the WEF promises for a bright future for billionaires owning everyone else as slaves and reducing the population by 50%.

The second has been obvious, Kamala* has often spoken like a parody of a human, a living version of the Saturday Night Live "deep thoughts" , but far less clever and articulate. SNL was a parody of pseudo intellectual pablum, Kamala often acts like her brain is composed of it.

Pablum is a Canadian developed precooked powdered baby food, designed to be easy to prepare for a young and busy mom. Like Cream of Wheat. Near zero taste and texture. Makes oatmeal seem a gourmet food. ( and oatmeal is the more solid food you graduate a baby to as it gets older and can handle it. )

To be fair, well prepared oatmeal with sweet or savory flavors added can be quite good before it becomes a poor concrete substitute. Nutritious, too, a classic grain and often considered health food.

Unlike Kamala*. Intellectually I mean, not the WEF Soylent Green version.

Kamala* sometimes says actually intelligent things! Gotta be honest or I'd be like her. It would be rude to honestly say I've known smarter more articulate 14 year olds, or comment on her assists to her positions by older men. No one thinks she had inappropriate sexual relations with married Joe*, she was a token hire and life insurance. As such, she's nigh perfect! She Looks like an African American without the cultural baggage heaped on them by Klan Party policy and miseducation. She's not bright enough to be a threat to whoever actually runs the White House. And no one, except maybe the geniuses on The View, is enthusiastic about her taking Joe's* job. ( terrified is a better analysis, thus perfect as insurance )

Also bending over backwards, she's had very high turnover of staff and scriptwriters. A cynic might "blame" her brief moments of profundity on a writer who did a good job, before resigning in disgust and frustration.

Also, to be fair, the WEF videos pimping the utopia they want as rulers of an obedient and reduced serf population, don't Actually Say they plan to murder half the world, tens of billions of mass murder victims, deliberately starved, infected by bioengineered plagues, or offered euthanasia as an alternative to healthcare & paying pensions. It's just actually happening.

Interesting times.

It's all about Them controlling every aspect of your life and taking, at gunpoint if they must, your car, your bike, your guns, and then your homes, and send you to live in public housing they own.

I know that motorcycles are, so far, unmentioned. We're a tiny minority not yet worth the smear campaign and propaganda blitz. But they've begun the shaming of gas tools for yardwork, and you just know that dirt bikes and road bikes will be banned as soon as they have prepared the peasants for accepting the paid "protesters" to picket Harley Davidson and dealerships.

I expect a not so subtle change in how motorcycle accidents are reported in Party Media. Your fault. Only robot cars and buses will be free from criticism.

More and more of the younger serfs don't drive. that's deliberate.

They won't defend you, they already approve of censorship. Increasingly they have nothing to do with you.

https://www.sciencealert.com/worlds-largest-nuclea r-fusion-rocket-engine-begins-construction

I have to point out a few major errors and misconceptions or blatant ignorance.

The "rocket speed of 500,000 mph" is utter nonsense. Speed of a rocket, any kind, chemical, fission, fussion, 4th of July black powder, is dependent upon specific impulse, time, mass, etc. How much mass you throw away at what speed and the mass of the entire system, which constantly changes as you throw reaction mass away.

Even if the ignorant reporter mistook exhaust gas velocity for rocket speed, that is dependent upon how hot you make how much reaction mass & other factors.

No mention is made of what they plan to heat up and throw. Or make fuse. ( probably deuterium ) It won't be a thin stream of cooling plasma from the hoped for fusion reaction, that's insanely inefficient. Probably hydrogen heated by the fusion "flame/flicker" Not deuterium enriched either. Technically they could vaporize anything including gold but that's stupidly inefficient. ( water is fine, easy to store, light enough, cheap on Earth )

Rocket science is actually simple. You heat something somehow and squirt it out the back as it expands. The Saturn V first stage engines burned kerosene and liquid oxygen and blew smoke and unburned fuel out the back. ( smoke meaning burned kerosene ) The Space Shuttle Main Engines burned hydrogen and oxygen and blew steam. Really fast and because hydrogen and steam are lighter than kerosene and smoke, more speed, more efficient.

A fission rocket like Nerva was a nuclear thermal engine, heat up hydrogen, squirt. Hydrogen is the lightest stuff you can easily get, so it accelerates faster for a given heat, and the reactor should heat it much hotter than burning it with oxygen.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_thermal_ro cket

There are other kinds, but basically make it hot and throw it is the idea.

There is a theoretical photon rocket design, basically a big flashlight, that just throws photons at the, duh, speed of light. But photons are nigh massless, so you need the energy to power a big city to get a push you could feel on your finger. There's an exciting possibility there to push a rocket from orbit to the stars, since you don't need to carry reaction mass, but you can't take off from Earth with this technology. ( and if you could generate enough power, it would probably burn a volcanic lava flow across Florida and vaporize a Lot of the Gulf, not to mention blind the East coast )

At the apocalypse to be near, or behind, extreme, that we could build, ( but won't unless it's really desperate! ) there's Zubrin's nuclear salt water engine where you put high grade uranium salts in water, contain the fuel in a buncha neutron absorbing drinking straw size tubes, which you pump into a nozzle where the uranium chain reacts and doesn't quite explode until it's behind you. A continuous Hiroshima that flies away. Needless to say, you don't launch that from a planet you live on. I don't expect those any time soon.

Yes it is. Which means the Germans the Soviets snagged for their rocket program were better than the Germans the Americans snagged for ours. They picked a good team.

Have to wonder if it would maintain that record if it had as many missions under its belt as the Merlin engine does today. If I had to put my life on the line, I would choose the Merlin.

Operation Paperclip pulled a bunch of the scientists from the A4 ( V2 ) rocket program out of the country before the Soviet troops took the area, and they captured a bunch of rocket technicians and everything we hadn't grabbed.

Thus the Soviets had a big head start by having slave labor who knew how to actually build the rockets. We had the guys that did the math. Paid them pretty good and made a few heros.

It's probably more accurate to say the Soviet built rocket engines had a 100% Claimed success rate. The only 100% reliable rocket engine is one you never test.

We blew up a few SSMEs, ( Space Shuttle Main Engines ) and a pile of F1s, ( Saturn V first stage engines ) before we worked the bugs out. If you don't test to destruction, you never know if you've got a 1% margin or 110%.

https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/first-moon-landi ng-still-amazes-world-today-powerful-example-ameri can-exceptionalism

One of my favorite YouTube videos is from a film maker who covers the Moon Landing Conspiracy. As he says, he wasn't on the Moon when they landed there, but he's absolutely certain it couldn't have been faked in 1969. We didn't have the technology.

I've got the book on the making of 2001 A Space Odyssey, and they built the rotating artificial gravity section of the Discovery One on the film set full size. Not the first rotating set built...

https://www.denofgeek.com/movies/a-celebration-of- rotating-movie-sets/

Being curious about special effects in movies sometimes can ruin magic moments when you catch the trick. Happens to me a lot. But it's also fun to glimpse behind the illusion.

I've given a magician the ultimate compliment, "I know exactly how that trick is done, and still couldn't catch you at it."

I suck at sleight of hand, but that's lack of practice and raw talent, not ignorance.

There's a great meme... Stanley Kubrick was hired to fake the Moon Landing when he was such a perfectionist he insisted on filming in location.

I understand your point on the Ice Age not ending, but it's not common knowledge and is far, far longer term thinking than the Cult's insistence on using the late 1970s as the Beginning Of Time on Climate Alarmism Charts. ( because it was cold in the late 70s, and using the late 20s would show clearly it hasn't warmed up measurably. )

You're totally correct as far as recent geological time periods go. It's a much longer time scale than the last few thousand years, where it was much warmer than now, in the time The Life Of Brian was set, and much colder than now in 1814, the Last Great Frost Fair on the Thames. ( Dr. Who was there ; ) )

https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/the-glaciation -timeline.html#:~:text=The%20Glaciation%20Timeline %20%20%20%20Rank%20,%20Cryogenian%2C%20Neoproteroz oic%20%201%20more%20rows%20

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_Thames_frost _fairs

You're talking the Quarternary Period. Dead on correct!

However! I would argue we are in a Particular Stage? Or perhaps a different Period altogether, as abruptly about a million years ago it seems ( with the limited data we have from Antarctic Ice cores ) the planet went from Ice Ages lasting millions of years ( that we're still in ) to roughly 100,000 year cycles.

On that Much shorter cycle, we are past the peak and about to plunge back into pre-civilization and civilization wrecking cold, in a time frame that's a Geological eye blink.

In human short sighted time, the plummet in temperature is uncertain. We don't know the exact year to peg as the "start" of The Next Big Ice Age ( 100,000 year cycles version )

And ironically, because of the scale involved, it could have been 47 years ago, but it won't be determined for decades, or hopefully centuries yet.

So... You're right.

And we just don't have data detailed enough to determine if the short cycle section we're in now is a sign of the Quarternary ending soon, ( a few million years ) or not.

https://euanmearns.com/the-vostok-ice-core-tempera ture-co2-and-ch4/

It's hyper ironic, or deliberately lying, because 120,000 years ago it was Fracking Cold. Using 120,000 years as your start point, literally ALL of human history is hotter.

Although personally I'd have used 25,000 years for my hyperbole!

Just to get the biggest temperature difference and Maximum Statistical Lie.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microwave_oven

Cut & paste Crashes Hard on wiki pages!

2.5 gigahertz / 4.8 inches for most home ovens and 915 megahertz / 12.9 inches for Big commercial ovens, bigger box, faster deep heating.

water and fats have a dipole structure that is excited by those frequencies.

Which explains why microwaves make meat tough, as the water turns to steam and the fats boil out.

( I'd forgotten about fats being affected, )

You're not wrong about the waves being "micro"/small, but that's in comparison with early 20th century radio.

The spectrum was named pretty broadly, 300 megahertz to 300 gigahertz is mucking huge. Ditto X-Ray, another broad range and they use in modern times only select frequencies to get better resolution and detail with less power.

Like a LOT of "science by making lists of things and putting them in boxes" of the 18-20th century, electromagnetic radiation is named "boxes" ( ranges ) based on the current fads. Hence "microwave", X-ray, Gamma, etc. Before being "discovered" microwaves were just part of the Radio wave "box".
