Other than the exhibitionist loons at "pride parade" events who annoy so many. tv shows like Will & Grace and Modern Family tried to mainstream LGB folk, albeit with cringe worthy stereotype humor. But being a group that can take a joke and jokes about you being normalized was substantial progress. Gay guy jokes in the Observation Humor ( "you ever notice the rail on an escalator goes faster than your feet?" ) instead of shock value stuff from a less enlightened age was getting funny. ( I admit I can't think of one, but that's just me being lousy at remembering jokes ) Just like racism, gay intolerance was fading, generally, into "I don't care about that, please don't rub my face in your weirdness" attitude, and the optimum goal ( for sane people, not Lefties ) was a colorblind society and generally equal opportunity and treatment. Then Barry the alleged closeted and overtly racist Communist became President and race relations reversed gear. Not, as his loyalists claimed, that Republicans were racist, ( enough voted for Barry for him to win and almost everyone was happy things had improved so much a black guy got elected (many would prefer he wasn't a Commie and that the R Party beat the Ds to it. )) But because racism became an overt and dishonest political weapon. Barry gives the Iranian Mullahs billion$ in cash semi secretly, and you object? You're racist! Obamacare writer wants euthanasia to save the State money? You're.... I'm not interested enough to track down the key players in the Trans/groomer movement, but it's now obvious to many it's a hate fest of victimization theater. Blame Facebook? And I could be completely wrong about Obama's influence in this retrograde hostility. I still suspect the trans/groomer activists are virulently anti LGB. Deliberately hiding behind the equal rights for gays has morphed into vicious hostility, like demanding lesbians date cross dressing guys. I have a question... A bit lighter hearted than the horror show above. Bud light? How many people really cared about a jerk getting paid to act like a little girl ( what's his name, don't care ) on the internet? would they have boycotted AB products if the Sorority girl advertising executive hadn't responded to complaints with a rant about Frat boy rednecks? I'm genuinely curious. My guess is that the second thing was the real trigger. Bud lite and frat boys was a fairly accurate stereotype. Being unfairly maligned is, imho, far more annoying than a fringe internet ad almost no one would have seen outside their target demographic? Or is it all because evil conservatives want to return to the Dark Ages? I don't drink the swill anyway, so I don't have any influence, or much interest in which bad beer is popular. Although I WILL complain about going to the store and all the good/small brewery beer is IPA. No variety in an aisle of variety! I get that you stock what sells, and IPAs are trendy, but darn it! Hiroshima was destroyed, but it was a civilian casualties level that was minor compared with the fire bombing of Tokyo, and not considered a military threat. Some concern about the new mystery weapon, quickly denounced as "misinformation" and Defeatist Treason. Then Nagasaki phone lines went dead. Nagasaki had a large POW, industrial slave labor camp, heavy industry, and an Army Division HQ. They quit answering the phone and radio. So the order was sent to the closest Army unit to send someone to check it out and reestablish contact. An officer was sent by car. He reported the city, base, and camp were destroyed and they Didn't Believe him. Sent someone else... It took over a day for the reports to be believed and the fact that an entire division of troops... Was gone. That The city was burning and civilians were dying on the roads out of town was just an annoyance to getting Army personnel in to report back. Only Then did the Japanese Army leadership understand that everything had changed, and they refused and denied the need to surrender, right up to the Emperor's orders, and some beyond. And that's all from internal documents, not speculation. Worse than the Hillary Campaign, at first, but unlike her, the Generals had honor and only a few spent the rest of their lives lying about being beaten. High school ) I've disagreed with about half the Supreme Court decisions. I just had to accept that the police would arrest me if I got caught violating their orders. Since I was not a government official, I was far less likely to be in position to deal with that directly, I just had to suffer the consequences with everyone else. Some years were better than others, imho, but for a radical centrist, liberal, pro-Constitution guy, more or less 50/50 agreement was just a fact of life. But as a Citizen, I always chose which laws to obey, based on my judgments of morality and chance. I don't murder because it's wrong. I don't speed through school zones because it's excessively risky, both to children's lives and getting caught. I don't sell heroin because the risks and penalties are too high. ( more from gangs than cops, oh, and it's immoral! ) Speeding on the highway? Smoking a cigarette next to a hospital? I use my judgments on risk and responsibilities. ( I walk several yards away from buildings and people to light up while I wait at the ER... I've got lots of practice, unfortunately, in my life and at my age. ) But as a Citizen, I Pay directly for my crimes. Politicians seldom do. So if, say, Obama refused to follow court orders to stop blocking drilling for oil, it's a case of lawsuits and court cases, and nobody arrested Barack Obama, and drilling paperwork didn't get done for years, if ever. It is a religious issue for the State Worshippers on the Left, but as a secular Citizen ( no matter my personal faith ) Government is run by fallible human beings. | ||

Company policy is and was to fire you if you resisted a robbery. Really makes sense from an Insurance point of view, they prefer to reimburse the store for stolen merchandise ( at discounted wholesale ) instead of paying personal injury medical expenses and lawsuits from bystanders families when stray bullets injure & kill. My attitude is & was, that if you provoked me into getting fired, I'd take my anger out on you proactively. The practical application is, I'll report stealing to the cops after and not risk lives. But threaten anyone with violence and my goal is to prevent it, and the attacker's well being isn't a consideration. And I'm going to be really upset. | ||

Barry canceled the "Don't ask Don't tell" policy of Bill Clinton. Only an inherently dishonest cheater on his marriage vows... "Wouldn't it be nice if she couldn't ask me if I'm screwing another?" could think such policy sane. being gay in the military was still illegal under DADT, you could still get discharged or sent to freaking prison, but no one was supposed to ask. Fundamentally Dishonest Clintons set the bar so low you had to dig through hog feces to see it. You can agree with the freedom to love who you want or not. It was just blatant hypocrisy to not make such freedom policy, but leave it 19th century criminal but condone covert affairs. Victorian hypocrites. I'm sure over 8 years of Obama's Fascism, bribe him for contracts to get taxpayer's money, State partnership with the richest people willing to kickback and bribe to get richer, somewhere Barry the Weasel did a few other things I agreed with, but I don't recall.
