Tpehak, Russia is an absolutely vile evil country since 1917. The purges, gulags and blood gutters in the basement of the NKVD are a permanent stain on humanity. The murder of 3,000,000 Ukrainians through starvation in the 1930s gives a clue as to Ukrainian resistance to the Nazi like invasion of Ukraine by Russia 500 days ago. Ukraine is also not a model world citizen, having learned their lessons while under the domination of being a SSR in the USSR. They are extremely corrupt but hardly Nazis. Please stop your BS, Tpehak. We have listened mostly in silence for almost two years but your sputum is getting rancid. Go ride your Buell. Russia is the bad guy in their continued invasion of Ukrainian territory first sanctioned by Obama in 2014. May the Russian invaders die in their own demolished tank tracks. Putin is the new Hitler chomping at the chance to invade other sovereign countries after Ukraine. |

Up front, I'm biased towards Ukrainian products. They used to make pretty darn good flying machines before the invasions and relentless shelling/rocket/missile/bombings. That's not a surprise, a lot of Soviet era planes were built in Occupied Ukraine. Specifically Antonov airliners and heavy lift planes. And after orders fell off after the crash of the Soviet Empire, a lot of folk who learned quality aircraft tech went on to start their own companies and sell clever and well regarded craft all over the world. Last contact, text, with the company making the wing I wanted, they were moving what equipment they could while missiles flew over their factory to hit apartment buildings in Kiev. He promised to get back to me after The war. The Ukrainian E-bike guys were getting penetration into the huge European market, before the recent invasion, and have switched over to cargo bikes for the military and some niche sales to support that, using available Chinese motors, etc. I have to assume the Russian guys, sigh... From Wikipedia, "In 2006, Mikoyan became a division of the United Aircraft Corporation in a merger with Ilyushin, Irkut, Sukhoi, Tupolev, and Yakovlev by decree of the Russian President Vladimir Putin. " Yeah all those guys that lost their jobs and were building nifty flying machines in small shops didn't get the reputation and overseas market penetration. They DID get some success, but mostly that is over. If you have any luck contacting them let me know. A real pity, there's some great guys over there. My remaining connection to the Russian aircraft guys is through Poland and he says they've gone underground or are gone. I'm no fan of the governments in either country. Putin has ruled for years with occasional title changes to pretend there's some democratic process near the top. An incredibly resource rich land, with the crash of the Empire, Putin's fellow former Secret Police looted the place, put oligarch into common usage, and have been in a vicious version of Mob war for the spoils. Hence all those yachts parked around the world. I don't even pretend to understand the Obama sponsored coups in Ukraine. ( I thought Barry and Vlad were buddies! Vlad politely waited as requested to invade Ukraine in 2014 ) I assume massive corruption in any Ukrainian government, Joe* bragged about blackmailing them, but the current president ran on a reform agenda. I suspect he'd have been murdered, if Vladimir hadn't invaded again and made him a folk hero. It's now a country at war, with what anyone would consider horrible human rights violations, except they're targeted at Enemy favoring factions. Iirc, the pro German groups who sabotaged the war effort in New York and New Jersey weren't treated with kid gloves either. And I just assume I'm getting biased or outright misinformation from both sides in the war Putin started. As to using offensive symbols in units to inspire patriotism, specifically the long vanished and banned fighters against the genocidal Soviets in WW2, I completely understand it. If Woodrow Wilson hadn't been a racist jerk, there might have been a John Brown Battalion of patriotic Americans of every race hammering the Kaiser's troops in France in WW1. Offensive symbolism has power. Would have freaked out the Germans much like the Marines did. A unit patch of broken chains and torches might have struck fear in the Nazis and Imperial Japan. I once walked up to a group of Jamaicans sitting on a porch in downtown Rochester, listening to a big portable stereo. They went to turn it down, but I told them to "crank it, it's my favorite Wailer's tune!" ( he likes Marley?? Confused and pleased ) I then asked if they knew the story behind Buffalo Soldiers. Nope. So I told them. Suffice to say I was respected on that block. Symbols have power in men's hearts. |

https://www.jns.org/jns/antisemitism/23/7/9/301195 / Since the Agitprop is all about nazis, And we have an Actual Nazi possibly running the country from behind the curtain, and he's almost certainly running the Riot schedule for the decade, so far, plus paying for all those DAs that refuse to prosecute crimes, I thought a little background might be useful. Saddam Hussein, the dead ruler of Iraq, was a member of a Nazi supporting clan. In WW2 there were Pro Allies and Pro Nazi clans across N Africa and through into the Caspian & Arabian Seas. There's still bad blood and feuds ongoing. After all, that's a region that holds grudges for thousands of years, a mere few decades means the grandfathers that fought for the Nazis are still missed by families, and a few still complaining about it. |

https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/putins-stran ge-leniency-so-far/ I really don't get Russian/Soviet Propaganda, it seemed, at least after I got past grade school, that no one would believe their nonsense, but obviously some do, or at least pretend to so they aren't murdered. Russian TV today looks like CNN on Meth talking about Trump. How anyone can buy that insanity is perplexing, but many do. Half the people are below average, after all. It looks more and more like the Coup was faked. I'm super skeptical about any claims ( like in the editorial above ) that Putin's in trouble. Seems to me today it was a ploy to get the fools to poke their heads up where they could be identified and get killed. |

Reindog, It looks like you have no idea what happened in Ukraine in 2014. Russia did not invade Ukraine in 2014. Russia already was in Ukraine territory and protected the people from the Ukrainian nazis terror in 2014 on those territories and people on those territories are happy. So stop spreading your BS. Dmitry Medvedev said Russia will consider strikes on nuclear plants in Ukraine and in Eastern Europe if the strike on the Russian nuclear plant in Smolensk will be confirmed. That was a bad decision to give the Ukrainian nazis the weapon for such strike. Now prepare your anus. (Message edited by TPEHAK on July 10, 2023) |

lol as I said earlier, I figure that everything coming out of Russia is propaganda. Ukraine, too. That way I am never surprised when the truth comes out. But regarding Ukraine and Nazis: The Ukraine government is full of Soviets, not Nazis. The USSR has had generations of influence in Ukraine. The Nazi influence died in 1945. Calling them Nazis at this point cannot even be considered propaganda - which is theoretically believable - it is just a blatantly obvious lie told by morons who believe their audience are unthinking fools. |

As a history buff, I know the swastika is an ancient symbol, usually positive religious, and a junction in maze making. ( grade school hobby, D&D hadn't been invented yet ) Some dude who couldn't get into art school ruined it for everyone who's an idiot. It's why I practice mowing triskelions in my yard, both to avoid the unjust BS that an accidental swastika in a maze would bring, and they fit better in a triangular space in my 5 sided property. ( Yes, I do lawn mazes you can only see from passing airplanes. No, they aren't Satanic, I've done mazes from French Catholic Cathedrals and Minoan antiquity ) There is the Azov Brigade, founded in 2014, to fight the Russian invasion of Ukraine and they chose, quite deliberately, symbolism of the free Ukrainians that fought the genocidal Soviets in WW2. Afaik, there is zero connection other than the psych war aspects of the symbols, and a few fringe politicians that tried to jump on the bandwagon. Seriously, the guys who started it wanted to strike fear into the invaders, and other than wearing Putin masks, WW2 imagery is the easiest. I don't quite get "far right" as it applies to the freed slave states of the Evil Empire. It doesn't mean the same thing here. "Far Right" here means those critical of the Clintons. ( and subsequent Party leaders ) Obviously That's not what it means in Belarus. |

Why? It's free from TAAS, and they at least provide background lies to make the current lies seem consistent. Without that context, many of your cut & paste segments of agitprop seem even more deranged than Russian television, and they're calling for anyone who can spell Ukraine to be buried alive to erase it's existence from history. ( wish that was a joke ) |

No insult intended, you seem to overlook a basic fact. The Soviets and the current Ruskie Empire under Czarina Putin lie. Daily. Continuous. Have for well over a century. Some guy here once accused me of being a know it all. Pretty sure he meant it as an insult. I certainly don't know everything, not even close, I have trouble doing factorials without pencil and paper and a textbook is handy for the times I forget computational order. That's pretty dumb in the group I camp out with. I have to look up spark plugs each time I buy them. ( I did have them memorized for my GT380 ) I typically only read hundreds of words a minute. But the guy forgot he was arguing with someone on the internet. So someone can post some body else's words, I can search for the original, read it in context, research the background as found in a couple of places, and come back with a quote from someone else, and I do try to give credit, but sometimes forget. Usually when I'm trying to compress an entire page into a few sentences. ( or paragraphs, I don't get paid by the word, I'm not the best editor ) Lots of folk are better spoken and more consise, so I mostly post links and my sometimes wrong opinion on their opinions. I'd be interested in your reasoned take on why Vladimir is upset with the West. It's not simple jealousy, but might be a heritage of the long standing inferiority complex and resentment typical of Soviet History. Also, there is the fact that "worse than Hitler" Bush promoted the escaped slave states of the Evil Empire joining NATO, erasing a Lot of the defense in depth Russia as a country prefers to keep between it and the German invaders. ( periodic events so many I lost count ) Resentment at the failure of the Russian government to interest foreign investment after the fall of the Iron Curtain that imprisoned their subjects, with lousy control over mob theft and demands for bribes to get things done? Bottom line is Putin invaded other countries using the exact same excuse as the annexation of the Sudetenland. It was bs then, it's bs now. |

I admit my knowledge of the history there is sketchy. I'm far more interested in the arms and armor of the times and regions than the politics. But I do understand that war is armed robbery. For most of human history it's been some greedy king wanted more resources/land and took it from his neighbors. Putin is a greedy king. There's more to it than just murder and theft, of course, buffer zones against invasion is a major desire. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2543164/ Colonel Weber: [answering a previous question about the Sanskrit word for war and it's meaning] Gravisti. He says it means an argument. What do you say it means? Louise Banks: A desire for more cows. |

As she says, "I'm Ukrainian, not Russian. Yes, there is a difference. Yes, I care." Very well educated lady, and I've had interesting discussions about history. My ancestors on both sides were at various times, sea raiders, conquered and rebellious resistance fighters, and even beacons of light in Dark Ages. But I'm the descendant of immigrants and escapees from dark times. Even conflicts that were ongoing in my lifetime were far away in ancestral lands, not personally affecting me in the U.S. where I and my parents were born. Generations and Continents removed, I don't Hate the conquerer nations, distance gives a different perspective. My buddy's Ukrainian wife lived through occupation and tyranny under the Soviets and left for freedom to get away from a previous Russian friendly/stooge regime. Her uncles and cousins were killed, so it's personal for her. The phrase "worse than Hitler" is reality for her, not propaganda against the Enemies of the Klan Party. |

Correct. She escaped the evil "People of the eastern republics", aka former Soviet Dictators who are the #2 mass murdering liars and barbaric genocidal monsters on the planet over the history of mankind. Happy you acknowledge their callous inhumane attitude. Pity the Russian and other subjects have suffered more than a century under their murderous rule. Hindsight is, of course, a futile exercise in what could have been, but a cold blooded analysis of the 20th century indicates that the 3rd atomic bomb not dropped on Imperial Japan, ( #2 saved millions of lives ) dropped on Moscow in Sept. 1945 would have saved well over a billion people in the second half of the century, and improved freedom and the living conditions of countless people, world wide. That may be unpopular and unpalatable to many people But the mass murder of innocents by the Soviets and CCP, plus the millions murdered by their religion's followers in Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Americas show clearly to any rational sentient being the cost of tolerating Leftist cults. Case in point is the return to pre medieval sanitation in major cities in the 21st to stroke the egos of rich racists. |

Gell-Mann amnesia effect. I just scanned the Tass website and by careful suppression of the above effect determined a negligible fact content. Every single article contains at least one falsehood and many had nothing but. Weird to see someone who makes MSNBC seem like fair and balanced fact based journalism. Much like Bill and Hillary's vacation at the convicted and now "suicided" child rape pimp's ranch makes his accusations of violent rape against multiple adult women seem trivial. That's an emotional response and not rational. |
