I remind you, as I pointed it in 2020, political parties are private clubs, and can set their own rules on candidates and how they are chosen. It's no different that the ( real name changed to avoid lawsuit ) "Bob Jones Socialist Party" does not have primaries, just a group that gathers signatures to get Bob Jones on the ballot. Bob & his buddies had a meeting and chose Bob. Just like the DNC chose Hillary, then Joe*. Perfectly legal. You could argue the primaries are fraud, and some states have gambling laws that would prosecute that kind of fraud. Like if Kellogs offered a give away for a Corvette on their Frosted Flakes boxes, but the company actually will give it to the VP of Marketing, and never intended to give it away to ANYONE else. |
