There's a rumor, aka A leak to lie to you, that the judge will issue a gag order to President Trump, forbidding him to talk to the public about his show trial. Under penalty of 30 days in jail and A fine. Myself, I think Trump should immediately challenge that and take the jail time! While suing about violations of rights. Not only is martyrdom quite popular in today's Victim Virtue Culture, 30 days of forced silence about Republican opponents, ( DeSantis, especially ) would greatly benefit his campaign! I have not read the charges that were leaked illegally so it's possible Trump is completely guilty and should pay a penalty, he's not above the law! My guess is there is actually one count of bad record keeping that you or I would pay a small fine for.. In any case, this debacle is Not the end of the rule of law in our country. That's both hype nonsense from pundits like Carlson, and inaccurate! It's also late. A couple of "Jan 6 victims" have committed suicide after being mistreated in D.C.. WhisperStealth: I think that if the rule of law and diplomacy breaks down state to fed, then some states will refuse to allow the feds to enforce unconstitutional laws in abuse of their citizens. We've already seen the beginnings of that on both sides with "sanctuary" cities, counties, and states relative to deporting illegal immigrants (though that's hardly unconstitutional), and gun rights. It will be up to the feds to try to force the issue. That could set up armed confrontation with local, county, and state folks. It was the states that created the federal govt. But how many actually will in the face of Federal Forces at their door? Texas, probably. Arkansas, hopefully. Oklahoma, maybe. How many others?
