One of their regulars wrote an incisive book, Liberal Fascism, with the clever cover art of a smiley face with Adolph mustache. Then came Trump, and while CNN/MSNBC/ABC/ETC went 100% Trump pimping ( until he got the nomination, then 110% Trump Hate ) NR got Trump Derangement Syndrome, I think beginning with the accurate observation that Donald wasn't a Conservative, and had been a Demoncrat until he ran for Prez. It's been down the slippery slope ever since. Perhaps, & you may disagree, my long time dislike for Trump's act kept me from jumping on the Cult of Personality wagon for, or against him. Maybe that lets me view criticism of The Bad Orange Man with a little more objectivity? From my point of view, the 2016 election was between the Annointed Felon, Hillary, and ANYONE not beholden to Putin and with some moral compass. Heck, I didn't insist on a life form. A chunk of granite or a wisp of steam was a better choice, to my mind. Come on! SMOD!!!! But the NR folk disagreed. They preferred Hillary to Trump. That lost a Lot of viewers, I'm not even saying the National Review was wrong in their dislike for an Outsider in their political pool, but instead of positioning themselves as a "voice of moderation" and common sense, a vocal Loyal Opposition that IMHO, the American Political Cesspool really could use, they became indistinguishable clickbait from NPR. Reduced my daily read to get a balanced view of the biased news by one site, in the process. I admit, even the Most Deranged rants on NR are better written and with more intelligent thought than the Party Media, by far, but when it's well written bile, it still stinks like institutional cat litter school janitors use, thrown on vomit. ( bet that triggers horrible memories, sorry ) | ||

The show trial is scheduled for Jan 2024. If, however, the DA & his staff are first convicted of the multiple felonies they already committed by illegal leaks, and the judge recuses himself since his family works as Biden* Campaign staff, then there might be a change in venue.
