I bought the voltage regular SH847 kit and installed it as per the instructions. I notice that my voltage indicator on the cluster reads 14.5v. The issue is that when I start riding an engine jerk around 3k happens. As in a cut of power to the engine. The voltage stays the same when the jerking happens(according to my cluster reading). When I re-install the OEM voltage/regulator, this jerking doesn't happen at all. So, I know its not a mechanical problem. I check the wires and the fuse from the kit and I have good continuity. My pins are crimp tight and not loose, battery cables are not loose. I haven't seen anybody with the same problem with this "upgrade". Should I just upgrade the stator and rotor from twinmotorcycles and keep the OEM Voltage/Regulator? Any help appreciated. |

Sorry to hear you are having issues, and what you described it sounds like you have narrowed down the issue to the rectifier (as it doesn't do it with the stock unit). I have not done this upgrade yet, but it is on my list to do next. Saving up. I have been lucky and my stock voltage regulator hasn't had any issues, but given the many forums discussing this topic I also want to upgrade my rectifier as I believe this will relieve the issues and not burn out my stator/voltage regulator. Roadstercycle has been mentioned a lot for supporting Buell's. Did you buy your rectifier from them or another source? Even if you bought from another source, it may be beneficial to reach out to Roadstercycle as they maybe willing to offer some advice (as they sell these). It never hurts to ask, and I'm sure they will let you know if it is the rectifier or if they have seen this issue before. https://roadstercycle.com/ Good luck with it and please do let the group know if you get it resolved or what caused the issue. |

I had a similar issue with the ce605 regulator. The engine would miss or sputter until warmed up. I noticed that once the fans kicked on, the issue went away. I assumed that there was too much charge not being used and the computer didn't know what to do with it. Since then, I replaced the battery and cleaned and tightened all grounds, now the issue doesn't happen. |

sorry for not responding sooner. I did purchase the R/R from roadstercycle and communicated with him. He never had this issue reported and gave me some tips for troubleshooting. He had me removed the fuse and connect the wire direct. No fix. Then, Had me ride one way with the R/R installed and on the way back to disconnect the Gray plug (stator) from the R/R. Basically running the bike on battery only. Problem Fix. Re-connected the Grey plug and problem came back. He did replace the R/R, but unfortunately the problem persisted. So now I had been running the OEM R/R untill NOW my stator has burn out. |

Now I have a bigger issue. I was ridding not too long ago and my voltage drop to 12.2 on the cluster. I overheated to 199'f and a burning metal smell came from the stator area. I think I will start a new post since this is a different topic. I will post pictures of all what I have found. |
