Assuming the wacky conspiracy theories are true, and the DNC wants to Replace Joe*, there are... Things to Consider. Personally I think the DNC is happy to let Joe* continue to front for his Obama Retread staff that actually runs the country. They may not want him to run in '24 so Newsome or Cuomo or the guy in the hoodie can take power, but I don't think they want to ask him to resign, he's just too perfect a sacrificial scape goat. But assuming the wild and unlikely case that the DNC decided "Joe* must go, now!", Then... They either get President Harris* to pick a Veep they want to rule, and then back stab Harris*, OR they eliminate Harris*, and Joe* appoints their Chosen One. Picking someone who read the Constitution isn't on their checklist, and considering the Constitution to be law is a disqualification. Many have complained about the ( possibly imagined ) trend towards choosing a Vice President candidate as a life insurance policy. Picking someone so lousy that no one dares assassinate or impeaches the Prez. Traditionally, the Veep is chosen as a concession to the Party elements opposing the candidate in the Old Primary/Convention system. Truman, Johnson & Nixon, are only notable because they won office after they served as Prez, following the death of their predecessors, how they got the Veep position was the same as most in history. I don't know that Gore and Quayle, etc. were actually chosen as Life Insurance, and Harris* was openly a Token choice by the Biden* showrunners. ( Joe* sure didn't pick her by himself ) But imagined, or reality, the Insurance Veep perception kinda wrecks the chances of a Gore or Harris* getting elected President. I'm going to just assume Joe* was... The exception that proves the rule? To be fair, I assume someone went to journalism school because they don't have the intelligence to do a productive job. ( and great journalists are smart enough to pick up the basics with self directed study while they get a different degree or just write ) Politicians are mostly "people persons" that went to law school. Where the philosophy is more about the dialectic than the scientific method. Any given lawyer may, or may not, have bothered to be curious how a generator works, and how electricity magically appears in the wall. You find both kinds. We know which kind is in the White House. As for journalists? There's a paper to be written there, but it won't get a good grade in journalism school, might in abnormal psych 102. |
