So, all my isolators are good. I keep an eye on them, no excessive vibration...this started around 5k miles. My Uly has broken two oil coolers. Snaps the housing where the cooler lines connect, off of the housing. Third cooler, I cut the braided steel sections out of the lines and replaced with (more flexible) rubber lines. No broken cooler...but now, at 41k...I have a rubber line leaking at the joint. Presumably rubbed through by the metal line inside the rubber, where they meet and are clamped together. Has anyone got a way to mount the cooler, to the ENGINE? So it moves with the engine, instead of being mounted to the rigid frame? |

Is it possible to utilize the plumbing from 08 and later Ulys? I've not heard of this problem with them. I know that the fittings changed. Routing across the front of the engine too. |

I'd have to look. I believe the cooler itself changed; different fittings. I finally got the shop shoveled...er, cleaned up to the point I can access tools and bench space, so I may make some progress on it here soon. Been riding the S2T a lot lately, and the weather has been bitter cold at 0600 when I leave for work, even the heated gear doesn't beat it back! On an up-note, I did install my Noco 2x4 battery tender/charger/maintainer yesterday. 4 ports, 2A each, dusulfator, dead-battery-resurrection, charger, float-maintenance. I have a Noco 3500 single that ROCKS so I got a pair of the 2x4s - one for the bike shop, one for the downstairs garage for the toy cars that sit during winter. Still have to mount and wire the downstairs, though... |

I believe the cooler itself changed; different fittings. Yes, to Jiffy(not so)tite fittings. I had one fitting come loose after a brisk acceleration run. Since there is only one way the clips can attach, I ended up replacing the line as well. My incident was not an isolated occurrence, either... |
