So I decided to keep the new 06 over my 08 but am working out the normal xb12 bugs. Finally got it to run without fouling plugs and this is my first xb12 that has no stutter whatsoever from 2000 to 3500 rpm. I am loving this tune that came on it, 99% of the time... Bike current setup...drummer exhaust, fresh ngk heat range 9 iridiums, magnacore wires, k&n air filter, crankcase breather reroute and holes in baseplate plugged, fresh tps reset. Runs great and pulls hard most of the time. gets 43mpg. (my stock 08 gets 48 on the factory tune). My current issue now is occasionally while riding, it misfires, the check engine light comes on for 15 seconds and goes out. While datalogging I notice that when the misfire happens, my CLT and MAT temps both drop and sometimes my tps voltage spikes up. the run time on the engine goes back to 0 and the engine goes into warm up mode for about 15 seconds. then cruie along for either 15 seconds or 15 minutes till the next hiccup. This hiccup is new. I am thinking I have a bad ecm ground and will go through the grounds soon. Does that sound good to yall? Does anyone got a link to the old step by step on adding grounds and what ground do what? Its been quite some time since I did it to my 08 and want to add that to my file to go through. Does it sound like I am on the right path being that grounds are a retardedly important issue with these buells? |

attached is the msl file from datalog. Whenever the CLT and MAT drops suddenly, you will see it go into warmup mode.

Found the old post about adding grounds. https://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/38 42/834493.html?1535939988 Is there anything new to add grounds to besides the steering neck, coil pack, upper dog bone, and the two little screws by fuse box? |

It can not be downloaded as MSL file, it opens it in browser as a text |

I had the most results when I ran a heavy wire from the negative battery terminal to a bolt on the electric starter. In fact, I haven't cleaned a ground connection anywhere since then. I used to have to go through and clean them all every year or stuff would get wonky. Another thing that really helps is that when I hit the starter, I let off the button if it does not turn over the engine robustly. Then I just hit the button again. On rare occasions it requires a third time. If I was to just hold down the starter button when it is not spinning the engine it does bad things to the dash info and can set a trouble code. |

Tpehak, sent you a pm requesting email to send you the file that way. Panhead, Awesome suggestion. I forgot doing that on an old suzuki and will look into adding that ground too. I am about to need an extra grounding lug for all these extra grounds. Also got the trickle and heated riding gear grounds too on top of the extras already added. |
