What are the current options for a belt for a 99 M2? Are there any industrial belts you can use or HD or other makes that are compatible? I'm a bit out of the loop and haven't been keeping up. |

Have you tried your dealer? Last I checked, they were still available from the MoCo... |

Sort'a staying with the theme of "new belts"...how long do they typically last? Yeah, I know condition is dependent on many things like keeping it clean, storage indoor vs outdoor, riding style, but the Buell I bought 3 years ago from the original owner still has the OEM belt at 20K miles. '99 Cyclone M2 that has been babied and garage-kept all it's life with no cracks or wear readily apparent. Do I need to start thinking about a replacement? |

~ How long do belts last?? Good question without a good answer. We had one fail at 15K while another is still working at 65K miles. ~ There were several manufacturers since this belt is used on Harley-Davidson Sportster's of that era. WOW! selection is growing thin for this length; Belt, Drive 128 tooth, 1 1/8” wide, S1, S2, S3 1997 1998, M2: Stock #'s; 40014-94Y G05001AAG G0500.8 4022-91 Dennis Kirk; 1204-0042 (BDLSPCB128118) Carlisle Panther, PA-128-118/62-0945 Drag Specialties 1-1/8 in. The original 99 belt still looks ok, I was just looking at options as it's getting on a bit. (But then again so am I) |

My '95 S2 that I totaled in '18 still had its factory belt on it, at 45k-ish miles. Still have it, actually...bambi cracked the frame at the head tube, and the bodywork is shot...but bike still ran and drove in the yard when I got it back from the insurance co. |

Ended up getting a Drag Specialties belt, which is a Goodyear belt in a DS box. |
