I was discussing the other day how people get excited over politicians restoring some of what should be our natural rights and allowing us to keep more of our own money...I.E. doing their actual jobs. The bar is set quite low. Our governmental entities are more selfish, overbearing, abusive mothers than anything we should be looking up to. | |||

please come and try to take mine most of the democrats are idiots. some repubs too. The only thing that gives them any authority is the constitution, there is a specific way to alter it. THAT not what they are doing. also the second amendment is about a RIGHT THAT IS INHERENT TO MAN, NOT A GOVERNMENT ASIGNED ONE. "The right of the people to bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" pretty simple. It's a basic cliche that the First person in an argument than invokes Hitler is supposed to lose. I wonder if that cliche was invented by the same Group that both inspired the Final Solution with Eugenics action to murder unborn black babies via Planned Parenthood, and copied the 1938 German gun control laws designed to disarm the Jews, in 1968 to limit access to guns to the "Excuse Races"? ( the minorities they blamed for all bad things to whip up hate to keep Power ) That "whites" are now the Excuse Race is completely understandable. Just as they don't dare criticize Islam, but mock Christianity. Whether it's Cowardice or common sense to pick on those who won't murder you & riot for your opinion & not on those who will, I leave to your opinion. | |||

Red Flag laws: Guy pumping gas with a legal carry gun on his hip mutters, "F**king Biden." The Karen at the next pump calls 911. The FBI shows up, throws the guy to the ground, gabs his gun and hauls him off to jail. After the guy loses his job, his gun and pays thousands for a lawyer, a judge lets him go because the judge was one more pump down the line muttering the same thing. G | |||

The FBI would take days to "staff the problem" and break down the door of the wrong Guy, guns blazing, & burn his house down, when the facial recognition software gives them a target. You can only hope he's a Bernie Sanders fan plotting to kill judges because of CNN. Because the Federal Bureau of Insurrection otherwise wouldn't care. In the REAL WORLD, Red Flag laws work more like this... Guy posts he's moved on from his toxic Ex wife/girlfriend, and rediscovered the fun of watching his kids grow up by teaching them about, say, target shooting & RC minitrucks. She reports him to the police, who raid his house at 3am, wake the neighborhood, local news shows drone footage of door being bashed in with medieval battering ram, close ups of street signs, address on house, children in Sponge Bob pjs crying from terror, blinding lights, and pepper spray. High probability of lost job, lost custody, lost visitation rights, lost property, and "protesters" vandalizing the house. That's the GOOD result. The BAD result is a burning house and multiple dead and wounded as terrified cops in the back yard react to the breaching shotgun blast from up front with machine gun fire through a house with children inside, that triggers the cops in the front yard to return fire as they start to get casualties. Flames and Peckinpah level machine gun fire from 2 directions wake up the surviving innocents inside, before smoke, flames, and the roof caving in finish them off, as the surplus armored car crashes into the basement after smashing through the front porch. Sure, that's incredibly stupid and horrible. Like waiting in a school hallway for tens of minutes while listening to children being shot in a classroom. Almost impossible to believe. When I went through my divorce in 2007 - 2009 it got very ugly. One evening my ex says she's going out. I say fine and to drive carefully. Next thing I know I get a call from county sheriff's dispatch center. Can I come out and talk to their deputies? Sure. I walk out and there are 3 units with gun drawn. They tell me to lift my shirt and make a 360 degree turn. Sure, I'm unarmed, no problem. Turns out the ex had called 911 and said I threatened her with a gun and pushed her around. Neither of which was true. I talk to the deputy, give my side and explain that we're going through a nasty divorce and she's trying to use the system against me. Deputy talks to both my sons who were home at the time and agree with my side of the story. In short, if there were red flag laws in place at the time, she certainly would have used them against me. That's the problem I have against red flag laws. | |||

Greggton, I agree about the need for the M5. The 5.56x45mm is inadequate in range and against body armor. It’s been reliably reported that the rifle and cartridge will actually support chamber pressures exceeding 100,000 psi. Yes, there’s current material science that makes that workable for thousands of rounds down the pipe. So here’s the concern. Reliable constitutionalists/ libertarians/ conservatives have been purged from the officer corps in all branches, and in a year’s time, the American citizen oath-keeping “militia” and compatriots will be absolutely thoroughly outgunned. There ain’t body armor anywhere that will defeat what will be coming. | |||

The Overton window has been stretched so far to the authoritarian Leftist radical end that many people are now willing to cede massive tyrannical control over to govt. They supported firing people for refusing experimental MRNA injections for a disease that was virtually no threat to the young, healthy, or those with naturally acquired immunity. Now we see organically fueled energy being demonized and curtailed while instead of promoting nuclear power it too is being decommissioned. Absent major reversal in policy, lots of people are likely to die as a result. In two years the global food price index has increased by 73%. Lots of poor folks are headed for starvation absent major policy reversals. Lots of formerly middle class are headed towards poverty. Recall our old compadré, Cityxslicker and his warnings? It comes, with a vengeance. No? I hope not. Why think that? | |||

On the Sig and optic...it all looks good...but heavy. It's roughly the same weight as a light machine gun. I think as a squad based DMR it would be amazing. As a general issue rifle it's going backwards a little, methinks. (Message edited by Rick_a on June 26, 2022) |
