https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/israel-middle-e ast/articles/name-lebanese-play-artistocrats Simply, Hezbollah is a criminal empire. Oh, terrorist, warlike, hate mongering, and technically religious. Proxy minions to the Iranian Mullahs, who sponsor them with money and weapons. But basically they're a criminal gang that runs the country like you'd expect Drug Lords in S. American countries to operate if they took political power. But not as concerned with keeping the subjects happy as the Yakuza or Mafia do on their home turf. And ideologically, typically Islamist rulers don't go for human rights. Very similar to other kleptocracies run by drug gangs, they choose not to Overtly Rule as camouflage. If you own the cops & politicians, you get what you want anyway, & the illusion of legitimacy gets you lots of Aid Money to steal, that might not flow as richly if the public face were terrorist. They don't get the coverage other hell spawn run countries get, like the seemingly weekly news from Pakistan about murdering blasphemous women, ( like a 12 year old objecting to being married to her 58 year old Uncle, or getting caught with a bible verse ) mostly because it's not a safe place for actual journalists. I'll point out that when I was a little kid, Lebanon was the Riviera of the Eastern Mediterranean, a thriving economy, and a great place to visit. Then the Islamist militants took over. |

2 thoughts on above. The Iranian government lies. I don't doubt there was a drone strike on their drone research base, but they are in a quandary between Accusing Israel & Denying they are vulnerable/incompetent. The above article uses a few loaded phrases, a responsibility disconnect, ...The New York Times reported Friday. The report cited three Iranian sources along with a US official, who confirmed drones hit the site, but declined to say who was behind the attack. ... which is a "deniability" way to speak, yet also seems to be Bragging about their achievements, nudge nudge, wink wink. The War Iran is currently waging against everyone not their minions is complex, and much is funded by Obama's bribes and Joe's* sanction re!ief. Oh, and China, who buys their oil. |

https://newcriterion.com/issues/2022/6/stalin-his- own-avatar Worth a look. When it comes to modesty, I’m the greatest. If the infallible leader affirmed that he had not the slightest hint of vanity, who was to say otherwise? You might apply that comment to many people. The Donald is an obvious target, the master of hype in multiple fields. Just Joe* is another, and Barry equally obvious, as examples of self promotion and bragging about how humble they are. ( I'm sure there's a subset of Acute Narcissism in the psychology books covering that ) But, more directly, Vladimir Putin is currently engaging in a terrorist campaign against the minds of his Enemies in Russia and the West. The parallels are astounding. I realized that while he professed a worldview set radically against metaphysics and Kantian idealism, Stalin was an idealist in the sense that he believed completely in the primacy of ideas. This represents a radical . . . reorientation and revision of Marx’s philosophy and is the key to understanding Stalin’s threat to “mercilessly destroy anyone who, by his deeds or his thoughts—yes, by his thoughts—threatens the unity of the socialist state.” Brent was right: Stalin was a man of ideas, to the point where he thought that by changing the ideas to which people are exposed he could redesign human nature itself. The Bolshevik leader Nikolai Bukharin, his onetime ally and later victim, put the point memorably: If we examine each individual in his development, we shall find that at bottom he is filled with [nothing but] the influences of his environment, as the skin of a sausage is filled with sausage-meat. . . . The individual himself is a collection of concentrated social influences, united in a small unit, and, for unwavering Bolsheviks, nothing more. That's why you can get beaten, arrested, and even murdered for protesting in Russia today by holding up a blank piece of paper. Why Ukrainians in occupied areas are being shipped to far Siberia and beyond. To Utterly Destroy a People, a Nation, a hope for resistance. Attitudes and strategies to be aware of. |

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2022/05/you -must-participate-comrade.php Ironic that the #1 most murderous, authoritarian, and intolerant cults in human history, confronts a Member of the #2 most murderous, authoritarian, intolerant cults in human history, to shame them ( in preparation to Shun them, obviously ) for not obediently pretending to publicly display their Unquestioning Tolerance for people their Religion openly murders for their sins against the Orders of The Prophet. Basically the Football League demands a Muslim lie & commit the "crime" of endorsing behavior that's forbidden by his religion. I'm well into "a plague on both your houses" territory here. Both Cults Hate Me, on principle, they don't know me personally unless they read my rants here on how Fracking Evil They Are. Both are utterly intolerant of Any Other Faith. I fully support Idrissa Gueye in his position of Not Going To Play if you make him lie. I utterly condemn the Football League for deciding to Order the Display of a political/religious Choice in a manner, ( wearing a shirt with the symbol of a group/division/subculture ) that would be incredibly divisive if only some of the team obeyed, thus the League Demands conformity to pretend tolerance & pretend unity with classically un-conforming people. And I fully support tolerance for Gays, etc. The Football League is following the Left strategy of Enforced Enthusiasm for the Lie of the Moment, intended to make people Lie, knowing they lie, to brainwash them into not just Unquestioning Obedience, but Induced Insanity to become Willing Inhuman Monsters in a Mob as a weapon against the Enemies of the Leftist Cult. Seriously, if you haven't read/seen 1984 by now... There is a difference between the Leftist Cult and the Islamic Cult. Both Demand you Believe the Cult's creed, Both have declared that the end goal is to Conquer All. Both are intolerant to dissent. The Left is hypocritical, in ways the Mullahs are not. Arguably even more evil, if just in numbers of murdered left in their wake. |

A Lot of links have a "referred from" addition so the site can count where the people saw the headline. I try and delete those when I notice, you don't care if I saw the clickbait first on Drudge or Powerline or Pornhub. |

https://www.timesofisrael.com/iranian-arms-depots- hit-in-alleged-israeli-strike-on-damascus-airport- watchdog-says/ Russia’s Foreign Ministry condemned the “vicious practice” of Israeli strikes on civilian infrastructure, which it said were “provocative” and “in violation of the basic norms of international law.” Ha ha ha. Good one, Russian Foreign Ministry of Lies! I freely admit to Bias against the Iranian Mullahs. Not prejudice! Earned, reasoned, bias based on personal experience and the brutal murdering F#%&'s actions against the Iranian People ( who I generally like ) and the rest of the planet. ( Heck, my personal Family doctor was Iranian, and according to him I was one of the few Americans who pronounced his name right. ) ( most get mine wrong, so I make an extra effort with others ) I also generally like Lebanese. Danny Thomas was a great charity guy, and several refugees I've known were nice families. The Hezbollah illegitimate rulers, backed by Iran, Russia & China, otoh, can kiss my shiny metal... And if they all died horribly, I'd cheer. Ditto Americans! Despite the illegitimate regime backed by... China... Russia supported them for years too, with vast sums of cash and Facebook/Twitter Bots pimping for them. The Regime seem to be on the outs today according to their Propaganda Departments, but you can't believe them. Oh, & the current Occupation supports Iran, based probably on Barack's religious beliefs, and the Mullahs actions to wreck Western Civilization, a goal they obviously share. Ditto on my caring about the Regime's well being. Like the People, though, I'm one of them. Syrians? Don't know many, but I pity the people under the Ruling Clan, Russian and Iranian "allies" ( occupiers ) and I'm sorry about Barack screwing you, too. ( I didn't vote for the Taqiyya Commie scum ) I will point out that the Assad clan that rules Syria had kept a lid on sectarian violence, albeit with brutal means, until Obama's Wars and Obama's support for Syrian Rebels sparked a Civil War. Also the Assad family were the Darlings of the D Party Media until abruptly overnight, the Obama regime declared them evil, in classic Orwellian style. The Vanity Fair puff piece gushing over the Wife of Assad, her palaces, fashion, beauty, class, and charity work was literally on the news stands when Barry declared the Assads Bad Guys. Much like Barry's Good Friend Vladimir was a great guy and ally, who graciously held off invading Ukraine until after Obama's reelection, as requested on hot mic, until the Hillary Campaign declared him a Trump Puppeteer Boogeyman as part of a now proven Disinformation campaign in conspiracy with the Obama administration and the FBI lying sacks leaders. Russians that escaped, that I've met, I also generally like. Over a century of hideous abuse by the Soviets ( second most murderous regime in planetary history ) I fear the Russian people lack the practice at self rule they need to thrive & reject the Aristocracy, under the Kleptocracy that screws them. The only Pakistanis I've made friends with are great folk that fled the Religious Dictatorship, so, again, I'm biased. The only news that seems to come out of there is about brutality and the horrors of living under a cult regime that murders women for blasphemy or resisting rape, so probably best I don't comment. I do think several of the above mentioned religious dictatorships should have their leaders cursed with ( very traditional unpleasant fates involving boils ) and would be fine if they all left the planet. I won't be specific. |

https://amgreatness.com/2022/06/12/the-selfish-cal ifornian/ Californians who look at their aging dams, their granite classical civic buildings, and their large municipal parks, are like Dark-Age Greeks who stumbled around the ruins of Mycenaean palaces and walls, wondering who were the demi-gods who built such things that now were impossible to emulate. So, too, we are bewildered at Balboa Park or the California aqueduct, or rather saddened that simply copying them is beyond our moral power or expertise. |

https://bradrtorgersen.blog/2022/05/20/the-millenn ial-urban-provincialism-of-ash-sarkar/ I read banned books. There's no better distinction in attitude between the actual literate, and the self identified intelligentsia. I read other stuff, too. A quick glance at my Kindle library shows a range between NASA reports on Oblique Wing prototypes, and YA lesbian superhero romance. To be fair, those may be outliers, ( one each ) with history and long out of print sci-fi classics filling the bulk of my library. The physical books range from aerodynamics & architecture to xenobiology & YA science fiction. ( though most of that is Tom Swift jr. from an age of technological optimism, and actual ecological awareness, or Mark Twain who may be the most banned author in Western civilization and the greatest foe to racism ever published ) I don't have "Catcher in the Rye" or anything approved by the Karens in education. Depressing boring books are a classic cause of suicide. |

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2022/06/hea ding-toward-the-abyss.php What I was not prepared for was the moral depths to which the movement I had been part of had sunk. These depths were revealed in the events that followed the Communist victory. When America left Cambodia and Vietnam, the Communists proceeded to slaughter between two and three million peasants who were “politically incorrect” and did not welcome their Communist “solutions.” It was the largest genocide since Hitler’s extermination of the Jews. In Cambodia they killed everyone who wore glasses on the grounds that as readers they would transmit the oppressive ideas of the past and obstruct the Communist future. But there was no resistance to these atrocities from the “anti-war” left. As the genocidal slaughter proceeded, prominent leftists like Noam Chomsky provided cover for the Communists’ crimes by denying that the atrocities were taking place. More disturbingly, there was not a single demonstration to protest the slaughter by the activists who claimed to be “anti-war” and to care about the Cambodians and Vietnamese. This silence unmasked the true agendas of the movement I had been part of. Worth the time to read. |

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2022/06/the -next-war.php The Iran/Israel War, ongoing, may go hot. Well, hotter. The Murderous Mullahs are shipping lots of missiles to their proxy crazies in Hezbollah and Hamas, and it makes sense to blow them up on the freighter en route instead of Very expensively, and with great risk of casualties in flight. However, a naval war means it's likely the Mullahs would send suicide boats and missiles to stop trade in their inland waters. Blowing up the ships loaded with missiles in port greatly increases the risk to civilians in Lebanon and Gaza. The secondary explosions might scatter burning rockets all over heavily populated areas. The most obvious escalation includes wrecking Iran's oil tanker port in the south, cutting off a lot of oil to China. Thanks to the President Trump, the other oil producers in the region are more likely to demand the U.S. fight the Iranian navy to keep the tankers moving, while negotiating with China to sell them oil to replace the lost Iranian contracts, instead of just condemning Israel. Oh, they'll make the appropriate noises for the public while sending thank you texts to Mossad, but no matter how or what happens with Iran, it's going to disrupt oil supplies & Jack up prices. |

Didn't really know where to put this, so decided on here. The Supreme Court (Justice Thomas writing for the majority) decided that New York states requirement for a SPECIFIC reason to have a concealed carry permit is unconstitutional. And the New York gov went postal. Popcorn up for me. (As if criminals give a rats about the law. But what do I know . . .) |
