In the meantime the mileage is 51.457 mls. The pics are from the last year. I have changed the exhaust System. A S1 Stock Header with 2" and the Stainless Steel Stock Muffler from a (late?) S3. I have removed the grid at the outlet of the stock muffler so it fits to the S2. The engine is running great with that solution. Actual i am searching for a better sidestand construction and i want to use another rear shock. I think the Twin Motorcycle rear shock will be a good solution. Greeting from Germany |

As a quick fix, many of us bend the kick stand a bit so that it hits the ground further forward. It helps! http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/379758.html?1220905804 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/751680.html http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/830384.html With a Dremle tool, on the side plate, I also ground a little deeper the spot where the side stand rests when down. Take care doing this. Well done! Looks great in the black orange chrome motif! Bet it rides and sounds as well as it loooks! Only thing I’d do is paint or polish the rear pulley/swing arm. |

... a few years ago the sidestand bracket cracked and the bike was damaged... At the time i get a spare sideplate from the Harley Dealer. I remember it was very expensive. In the meantime i could buy a set of used sideplates as a replacement from a good friend here in germany. |

Gorgeous! Question, why do you have so much clearance between the handlebars and front fairing. I wish I had more. My only complaint on the S2 is the damn handlebars, would like them wider. Anybody got a fix, maybe mounted a one piece handlebar some how? I absolutely love your bike and colors!!! More pictures please! |

The sidestand fix is arrived. I could get a stainless steel sidestand from another tuber.
I will mount the sidestand fix the next time and send a picture. |

A S1 Stock Header with 2" and the Stainless Steel Stock Muffler from a (late?) S3. I did this same mod on my S1. I did have Drummer modify the muffler and it sounds fantastic. Not loud like a regular Drummer, but not as quiet as stock either. With the outlet being repositioned after the Drummer conversion, it likes to "auspuff" on my left foot when stopped at a light which feels odd at first.
I really like your bike and may have to try out the dark side of S2 ownership someday! |

The outlet looks great. In which way you have modified the muffler? |

I sent the muffler to Kevin Drum (the guy who builds the Drummer mufflers) and he sliced it open and replaced the stock internals with his setup, then welded and polished it back up. That picture is actually from his shop. It looks great, and sounds great. It may not be loud enough for some, but I like it. Kevin is a super nice guy who was extremely, helpful and friendly in getting this done for me. http://www.kdfab.com/ |

Hi, the sidestand fix is mounted. Attached some pictures. I have a left spare plate to mount the fix:
I have to grind out the stop of the sidestand because i got the problem that the sidestand touch the floor in left corners.
After grinding
Thanks for all and the perfekt sidestand. |

I think your stainless steel kickstand could be a bigger diameter or somehow different than a 1996 and later tube frame bike kickstand. It should have retracted to the same point that yours does after grinding the pivot stop. In one picture it looks like it should retract further but it’s blocked? Maybe the welds or the pivot joint is bigger?? I’ll attach a photo on my S2 to show you. Glad you worked it out! Looks great!!! |

See how far this retracts with a factory kickstand?
I do like the stainless steel kickstand though!!! I just wonder what’s different?? |

In the meantime i have changed to a 2,5" S1 Header and a 2,5" X1 muffler with Z Bracket. That works perfect. |
