Hello all, The bottom of the isolator is ripped. Twin motorcycles is close by (ish) but I don't have the funds. Is this enough to take it off the road? It's the bottom so not load bearing? Is there any horror stories I need to know about? |

Hi Simon , are you also a member of the ukbeg Buell forum? You could ask there if someone has one for you for less money! |

If the top is not rubbing metal to metal, you are good for some time. Check all the mount bolts are good. Get it replaced as soon as you can. |

Thanks!, I will give it a check over. But it's still good for commuting, thank God. I was a member of UKbeg but I'm living in the Netherlands don't have access to a workshop. |

Simon ,so you could do the work yourself if you had access to a workplace or tools!? May I ask were in the Netherlands do you live? I know a shop in my area were you can work on your bike yourself and use tools. You only pay a amount for the time you use the workspace. You also could come by my place and you can do the work on your bike yourself with using my tools. I have a used spare isolator if you don't have one yourself! If you live on the other side of the Netherlands from me i can give you a phone number from someone that could help you with your bike also. You can send me a PM for contacting Cheers Mees |

The feel of the machine is very rubber bandish when this happens and on an X1 the header will just start rubbing the frame in the back. Its a Blast! |

If the front isolator fails, it can contribute to an early failure of the rear isolators - if the bike continues to be ridden. |

Hello, Brother in Buells / Mees, I'm in Groningen and I can't figure out the PM system! Edit: Ok I saw it now Haha That sounds like a better plan! Tbh I have a Stenzel bar back in the UK I have wanted to try for over a year. (Message edited by Staps2 on March 14, 2022) |

Just a quick update, hah The New isolator is installed and the rubber is much harder than the previous one. This is probably the new formulation. Also just found out that Twin motorcycles also sell the full kit with the old rubber, damn. The bike has reduced vibrations a lot ( it no longer walks dangerously backward). I this too much I wonder? The previous owner used exactly 1 washer in the installation which is disconcerting. So it's gonna come back out - maybe next year Also, it took ages, to undo the 2 side bolts took 100 1/20 turns! |
