The arrival of my first Child!!!!!!!!

Elizabeth Anne Tyler was born at 11:45am on June 10th, after a wopping 2 hour and 45 minute labor! We were in the delivery room less than an hour before Becki gave birth to the most beautiful little girl I've ever seen. (I'm allowed to be biased.)

To top it off Becki's labor was so short that she never had a chance to get any pain meds so the baby was born completely naturally! This new Mom is one tough cookie and I couldn't be more proud of her.


Mom and Baby are both fine, the new Father is still working on recovering from his freshly flattened fingers. Neither one of us has really slept in the last 48 hours, but I think that is par for the course so I'm not complaining.

Becki and baby will be coming home tomorrow afternoon. Daytime visits are more than welcome if anyone is interested.

Elli was 8 pounds 6.6 Ounces and 20 inches long!!!!

Try that without pain meds!

I told Becki when she told me her due date, that the baby would be born on my son's birthday June 10th, and she WAS !!!!!

Thanks for the congrats everyone. Elli is doing great but we are stuck here for yet another night because of a possible infection or rather the treatment for a possible infection. We hope to be out of here tomorrow.

Becki was actually discharged today but they let us stay in the room as long as the ward didn't fill up. Which is great since family housing all the way on the other side of this huge complex. I've never been an overnight patient in a real civilian hospital but after three days as a inmate in this one I'm quite ready to get the he11 out of here!

Elli has been as close to perfect as I could have ever hoped for. She's feeding like a pro and I've already changed a lot of diapers. She has got a great little smile, but she's really selective as to who she shows it to. I've seen in twice.

I've heard stories about how some fathers take a little while to bond with their children, I on the other hand was completely and totally in love the second I layed eyes on her. Becki is already predicting that she will be a "Daddy's Girl" and have me totally wrapped around her finger. I think she's half right, but I'm not sure which half.

As for sleep, I finally got 7 hours of uninterupted sleep last night. Becki is still chugging on 2 or three. I'm going to do my best to get her into bed for a while as soon as we get out of here. (Of course that is what got us here in the first place, but under another pretense )

We were finally released from the hospital today so everyone is home safe and sound.
