I had a dream last night that I was riding through the countryside, and my drive belt broke. An incredible looking woman in a red Corvette stopped and took her pantyhose off and made a drive belt for me. She led me back to her farm, explaining her deceased husband had a Buell that was still in the barn - and I could borrow the belt. It started to rain as we were replacing the belt, and she suggested I stay the night. Unfortunately, I woke up at this point... |

Is there a definite advantage in replacing the factory air filter with a K&N replacement filter?....i.e. Is it worth my $50 or $60? |

Yes Generally, changing the air filter is the most cost effective performance mod you can make to a V-Twin. I stand ready to be humbled. Court |

Pony Yes, even if the performance increases weren't real (and they certainly are -- check the knowledgeg Vault for further details), the cost savings alone would make it a worthwhile investment |

FAST FIREBOLT!! Watch the NHRA web site this weekend and also check out ESPN and ESPN2. There is a new Firebolt drag bike that is going to run for the first time in competition this weekend and hopfully on Sunday. Maybe give the Vrods a run for their money? who knows. I don't have any pictures, but I have seen the bike and it is very cool. http://www.nhra.com/2004/events/race10/reports/F_Collis.html Jeff

BUELL RIDERS ADVENTURE GROUP BRINGS IT HOME AGAIN Buell Press Release MILWAUKEE (June 1, 2004) - Buell owners from around the country will converge in East Troy, Wis., for the BRAG Bringing It Home adventure from June 2-5, 2004 to experience the true energy of Buell’s place of origin. Founded in 1994, Buell Riders Adventure Group (BRAG), the official riding club of the Buell Motorcycle Company, has been hosting adventures to bring enthusiasts together to share the exhilarating experience of riding a Buell motorcycle. The BRAG Bringing It Home event will take place in East Troy, Wis., and other locations around southeastern Wisconsin. The host hotel is Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, Wis. Saturday offers the opportunity to take part in a self-guided tour to Road America for the AMA races to watch Buell racers compete in the Lockhart Phillips USA Formula Xtreme class. Registered attendees will receive admission to the races with access to the paddock, as well as a climate-controlled hospitality area where beverages and lunch will be served. In addition, registered attendees will also have special motorcycle parking and take part in the on-track motorcycle tour during the race scheduled lunch break. A complete schedule of events is posted on the BRAG section of www.buell.com. BRAG members as well as non-members are invited to register for this event. While most BRAG Bringing It Home events are only open to those registered for the event, some are open to the public. The general public is invited to join Buell riders and BRAG members on Thursday evening on the square in East Troy for live entertainment starting at 7 p.m. Well, that should teach me to read the entire newspaper instead of just the sections that interest me. Had I seen this in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel we would have gone even though it did not include the dinner with Erik and Company which was the one event of the week that we could have attended and were willing to pay a daily fee for. Addendum: A search of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel articles on their website did not show this article as having been published. However, they do show other articles published in the same time frame with the names Buell and/or Harley in them. Therefore, I assume the press release was not published by the MJS, Wisconsin's largest newspaper and strong HD/BMC supporter. Possibly it was picked up by a small local paper around East Troy. Translation: You can't read what isn't printed and not all press releases are printed. edited by outrider on June 12, 2004 |
