Check this out, Lets make the 2005 Buell Model year into a brain contest. Each person interested, list what you think the lineup will be like including models and changes. Winner....hmm.....maybe well all chip in and get you a shirt or something...whatever the case itll be fun to see who thinks closest to the Buell factory! Maybe they will be monitoring this and send you some free stuff. My thought will be coming shortly....I have to really think about this. Jack |

I would think that if they were going to make a touring model, they'd have to make a different frame. Maybe the same type, but longer, so the wheelbase is longer. This would also allow it to hold more gas. Just my thought. I could see it, but not yet. Maybe 2006. |

what they should do: 1. Bring back the transmission trap door. This would be difficult unless done across the board to all the XL/XB/Blast engines. Not likely unless the rate of transmission warranty issues on the new XL's and XB's get to an intolerable level for HD and their dealers. I know the dealers just LOVE splitting cases..... 2. Welded on frame slider mounts like the race bikes. The simplest way to help reduce the rising insurance rates on these bikes is to better protect the frame/fuel tank. This should have been done from day one. 3. Use the S wiring harness on the R to move the fuses under the tail which will free up the space in the fairing for fairing bags like the S3T. I like to carry things other than in my jacket or on a backpack or tailbag and keep them on the bike and in front of me for easy access. Those fairing bags were just the ticket. 3. On the new race ecm's a button that the owner can use to reset the TPS without having to go to the dealer. 4. A serious makeover for the Blast. what they will do: colors, bold new graphics.... edited by josé_quiñones on June 11, 2004 |

less expensive vertion of the current bike, regular forks, a return of the M2, priced in and around 7995 Hard bags, and the ability to make it a sport touring bike, but not a pure sport touring bike, just a bike with an extnsive catalog, and lower price R |

What I'm hoping for, More 9s being built, in more colors than 1 in the R model. As Jose mentioned, built in lugs to mount frame and swingarm sliders. Saddlebags for both the Lightning and Firebolt models, big enough to fit more than your lunch in. Accessories that make sense. A T-shirt vendor so I can get some Appleton Buell shirts!!!!!! A 2 year membership in BRAG with a new bike. More cool promotions like they have had this year. Even more advertising in the major mags and on TV. A XB9R Low version. A make over of the Blast. They should make it look like a Firebolt but keep the price low, or lower. Ride to the edge! Dave |

Daves...I like your wish list. It comes from someone that is sincere intent of marketing and selling the product without placing much of a strain on the factory. On the humorous side, perhaps they can provide you with bikes in a primer finish and a Rebate coupon for custom painting. (Yeah, I know the color is impregnated in the plastic. So buy them all in white.) Run that in conjunction with a national contest to see who wins top honors in the custom paint arena. A side benefit for Buell is that they will end up with a plethora of glamor shots of their bikes for advertising purposes. Not to mention years of feature articles for Fuell. Run with it... edited by outrider on June 11, 2004 |

I forgot two lighting improvements. 5. Make BOTH headlights light up at all times. Motorcycles, no matter who makes them, look GOOFY with one headlight on and one off. 6. Add "hazard" (both turn signals flash on and off at the same time) flashers to the bikes like Harleys have. Suzuki's SV650 has hazard lights now, so Buell should be able to get in touch with their supplier and get the circuitry and put it in the XB's.

How about self canceling turn signals at least on the Blast. Entry level bikes should be as simple to operate as possible. |

Better stock tires, all black 12, all white 12, 300 rpm higher redline, orange 9, gunmetal 9, mostly cosmetic, plus 500.00 cheaper list.... |
