Alternatives to Buell OEM parts that are no longer available should be posted in this thread. Many Buell OEM parts are getting harder and in some cases impossible to find. Please use this thread as a repository for our collective knowledge about alternative parts. Please keep this THREAD ON TOPIC AND FREE OF DISCUSSION. If you disagree or want to discuss, please start another thread for discussions and then post your conclusions here. Please don't post an alternative if you're not ABSOLUTELY sure it will function properly. Please follow the format of the next post and please use the same nomenclature as used in Buell's Official Parts Catalog. (Message edited by pwillikers on October 25, 2021) |

Buell Part Information: (Official Parts Catalog Description, Part Number, Page Number and, Index Number) REAR BRAKE CALIPER, H0102-1AM, page 58, index 14 Alternative Part Information: (Manufacturer, Part Number, Description, Where Obtained) Brembo, P32G, brake caliper, ebay Notes: I had to do two very simple things to make it a perfect fit: 1. I installed 1.5mm shims (common M8 stainless washers) on the mounting bolts between the caliper and swingarm so the new caliper is exactly centered over the rotor, and 2. The stock brake line matches up perfectly but the OEM caliper uses a banjo bolt with a normal thread pitch and the Brembo caliper uses a fine thread hence you can't reuse the banjo bolt you removed. The bleeder valve on the Brembo is on the bottom of the caliper when installed as opposed to the top of the caliper where it should be. This is really the only very minor functional difference. I just connected the plumbing and holding the caliper in my hand, turned it upside down so the bleeder was on top, bled the caliper then turned it right side up (bleeder valve down) and installed it. It was actually easier doing it this way than bleeding it in place as you would normally. |

If you get the P32F it will have the line inlet and bleeder valve at the top… |

? The P32 series by Brembo are used on a lot of bikes. I have the F version on my bike, an 08 1125. Therefore it’s a direct replacement. It’s sold by twin moto as a replacement. I didn’t do a write up nor do i care to. It works, and has both the brake line input and the bleed valve at the top when installed. If you want to make it a post that is only about parts that you approve of then note that please. |

Corey, Sorry about the tone of my previous post. It came off a lot more cranky than intended. Apologies. (Message edited by pwillikers on October 26, 2021) |
