I've created a squid. A co-worker of mine is getting a bike. He's talked to me about it a lot. I talked him out of the R1 because it's his first bike and has never ridden before in his life. He's getting a GS500. No problem with that, it seems like a good beginner bike. The problem is that he's WAY more worried about how he will look instead of his safety. So far it seems OK since he seems to have a taste for stuff that is not only protective but also nice looking. It just wierds me out to hear him say stuff like "Oh, I'm going to get the all white Icon suit because it'll match my bike and I'll look SOOO good." He's getting the blue and white model because it matches his rice-i-fied Subaru WRX. I still haven't found an easy way to tell him that buying a bike that looks the SAME as all the other bikes around here is NOT the way to stand out. (Note to self : This sounds hipocritical coming from someone who owns a Buell seems how my bike DOES stand out, but I bought it due to it's perfection of street bike suitability.) He even said he doesn't care about turns... I can only hope that some day he will. Anyway... Sorry. I tried to keep him from going to the other side, I really did. I failed. I will keep trying though. |

It's not the bike... I see him taking many trips with squid clothes on and his $500 helmet not strapped on. |
