Although some of the marketplace activity was down (vendors were down and some of the big motorcycle manufacturers were absent) I felt there were smart improvements to the product. For instance, there was a big screen TV and picnic tables added to the Marketplace side so fans could take a load off and watch the races if they wanted to on THAT side of the infield. They ditched the stunting and added a mini "motorcycle circus" including guys getting SERIOUS air doing aerial tricks and landing on a huge inflatable ramp. Also, the "Barrel of Death"--see pics below. Last thing I can think of right now is the addition of Michael Hill (who is the live MC from WSBK.) MA has been bringing him in when schedules allow and that might be the best decision of all of them. The guy is really good at what he does. Michael Hill (with recent teeth whitening)

Toni Sunglasses will be back racing alongside Herrin and Gagne at NJMP. I'll be there... any other BadWebbers going? |

At the rate he's going, Jake should change his last name to "Mladin" (minus the child molestation charges, of course).... |

It was cool catching up with Tim (Smoke) again along with his rider Max Flinders. First time I got to check out the new truck, too!

Snooze. Never seen a season where someone wins every race except 1 with a average margin of 5+ seconds and clinches the title with 4 races to go in the season....just saying. |

Consider the level of riders like Toni Elias, Loris Baz and Hector Barbera and then how BADLY Gagne has been beating them to put things into perspective. Years ago, when he was stuck with that pig of a Honda riding for the Broaster Chicken team, a reviewer commented that in his opinion, Jake had the most raw talent of any rider on the grid and was hampered by his equipment. That reviewer (and I wish I could remember who it was) was VERY prescient. If there is any justice, Jake will join Gerloff in Europe next year. |

Jake is going back to Europe? I must have missed that...good for him. One of my distinct memories about Broaster Chicken happened years ago at Laguna Seca after everything was over on Sunday. Broaster had massive trays of chicken wings, nuggets and other things I can't remember. The food table wasjust sitting out. Well, we thought this must be extra food or samples and we dug in. Never had better tasting chicken in my life, it was just fantastic. Turned out that food wasn't for public sampling, but by the time we were discovered it was too late. The crew members didn't find it humorous as they promptly carried the table away to a more secure place. Oh well--we were not hungry anymore! BTW, if you attend the races and have the option, stick around in the paddock late Sunday afternoon. It's a pretty nice atmosphere to interact with riders/crew...and stumble into things like the above. |

I didn't say that. I said "if there is any justice, Jake will join Gerloff in Europe..." At ONE year in Millville, Broaster Chicken was legitimately giving away free samples in the paddock. It was very good but that was the ONLY time they did it. Every other time we saw them the food was just there for the team. They're supposed to be sponsors, and I would think the primary function of a sponsor is to gather potential new customers, right? What good is it if people can see your name, but have NO idea of the quality of that product?? They didn't have to give the food away, they could've set up a food truck and SOLD their product! Oh well... they're not sponsoring any other teams for a couple of years now so the point is moot. (Message edited by jaimec on September 15, 2021) |

Barber was one CRAZY race weekend from what I saw on television. I was originally planning on attending this one but had something come up this past weekend so I had to cancel. Based on the TORRENTIAL rain that was falling on Saturday and the fact it rained most of Sunday, I can't say I'm particularly sorry BUT that was some WILD racing! Seeing Mathew desperately trying to signal to Race Direction to call the race only to crash out on Saturday was heart breaking but he still managed to podium. And then the Sunday red flag because a DEER ran out in front of him?? Although Jake didn't get to sweep it was still gratifying to see him break the record for most wins in a season. And Baz is a freaking WARRIOR to compete AND podium all three races in his physical condition. Everyone should sleep for 36 hours after this weekend, that's for sure. |

Doesn't sound like Baz will be back in MotoAmerica next year. https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/motoamerica-w arhorse-hsbk-racing-ducati-in-superbike-supersport / |

No, but Chaz might be....lol. Seems like when all is lost in Europe there is always MA for "older" riders with a name. |

SERIOUSLY hoping someone snaps up Gagne in Europe. He didn't have much of an opportunity the last time riding that DOG of a Honda... |

Yeh they need to get him soon before they start thinking he’s too old. |

Just saw the County voted to repave Laguna Seca and improve some of the facilities. How about bringing back the restrooms they removed in the middle of the paddock. It even had shower facilities. Head scratcher as to why that was removed. Maybe the porta-potty vendor paid someone off. |

So after waving "Good-bye" to Loris Baz, it looks like we get to say "Buon Giorno" to Danilo Petrucci in 2022. Let's see how he does against America's best! Still waiting to see who is riding for whom this year. I haven't heard of any Euro teams snatching up Gagne (and that is a DAMNED shame) so I guess he'll be back. It would be good to see Toni Elias on the grid again, too. |

Man, where have all the American racers gone?!!?! Sometimes when we get talking about nostalgia in AMA/MA racing, I go back and look at the results from 10-15 years ago. Incredible fields of racer in both the 600cc and 1000cc classes. Nearly recognize every name on the grid. Far from that now. |

Considering that Gagne handed Baz his ass at every Superbike round in 2021 it seems Europe just might be "Anti-American." I can think of no other reason why Baz was snapped back up to WSBK, but Gagne is still here... |

Having lived overseas for 6 years I can vouch that they are very anti American. |

Wow. I’m looking forward to this. I’m a big fan of Petrucci. Fist time I saw him race it was raining. He won. He is the king of a wet track. |

I admire guys who are fast in the wet. Takes supreme bike skills and big balls to go fast in the wet. IMHO |

Jason Aguilar passed away from mountain bike head injuries. RIP. It doesn't specify if he was wearing a helmet, but it is a good reminder for all of us to gear up. Nobody plans to to have an accident. It just happens. And when it does, you will be damn glad you have your gear on. |

I would LOVE to see the timings from Portimao: Petrucci on the MotoAmerica spec Ducati vs Bautista on the WSBK spec Ducati. As far as I can tell the two differences are the fuel and tires. Everything else should be the same. |

Got a wild hair to buy an electric skateboard a couple years ago. Waaay different jumping on a skateboard in your 40s than a teenager. Fantastic for reclaiming some that lost balance however. I definitely gear up and the only injury incurred was a pretty bad hamstring pull which no gear would have prevented. |
