The New York Times, Facebook, and others can CHOOSE to censor the news, and not report that, for example, there is a drug that might save your life if you get the epidemic that 10% of the population as a whole will get. Not sure about liability there. The New York Times has ALWAYS been able to pick and choose the reader's letters they publish in the paper. Ditto the Epoch Times or the Rochester Democrat & Chronical. People can complain about that, but they can't do it in the paper. This hasn't changed since the Printing press. But Face-space-twatter companies not just censor you, they Punish You. You think Trump won the election, by Cheating With Putin, and Hillary is the Legit President? IF they don't like that idea, they can erase your posts, ban you from posting, and threaten to ban anyone who supports you, by likes or reposts. But that's legit, right? Their company, their rules, and if the rules change between noon and 12:15, that's their business. You insult the store manager, Karen, and they'll put your picture up and refuse you service. Fair? And if you offend someone by NOT OBEDIENTLY parroting hate against, say, Kamala, it's fine for them to shut you down, and take away your sole income? ( lots of people now make their living on Youtube and Facebook. It might be camping videos or selling knit phone covers with cute critter faces. AND after the Panicdemic layoffs, that's a growing number of people ) BTW just because the examples I use are IMHO the Opposite of the actual political slants, doesn't make them invalid. Conservative vs. Regressive may indicate the position on the Bell Curve of the majority of that self identified group, but there are evil monsters in both. And the next level, beyond, "we ban you from our Platform", is Cancel Culture, where some use the platform to get you fired, whip up a Mob to protest at your house, beat down the door while your children cower inside, and, as the History of the Party shows, burn crosses, homes, and families while screaming hate. And that's just another step on the road to Hell that is now a multilane expressway, see China's Social Credit System. I beg to differ. She has won FOUR gold medals for the USA already. This is not new for her. She knew what to expect. I'm tired of hearing how "hard" it is to succeed; of "how much work" it is. What of the other team members, who haven't had the opportunity to be in the Games before? This was their first time going to the Games - they're all rookies. She was there to carry the team, and now she's quit. I'm not watching the Games, but how's the rest of the (rookie) team doing without her? Did she consider that before she quit? Before she signed on in the first place? I also want to know, if we're such a racist nation...who screwed up and put a BLACK WOMAN at the head of our national Olympic team? Didn't they get the memos? How was she allowed to train, succeed, get better, try out for the team, MAKE the team, go to the Games, and WIN MULTIPLE MEDALS?? Everyone says the USA is supposed to be "inherently racist" - how the hell did we let this happen? I'm so tired of all this race-bait bullshit, that only surfaces when it fits someone's narrative or needs. Nearly as tired of that, as I am of the "it's too hard" cop-out.
