Getting my 2008 1125R back from Iowa from our son. Went into his garage, sat on the bike pulled in the clutch....WOW!!! Did I ever forget how damn hard it was to pull in. The 12X and 9S both have added ball ramp assists but the 1125R needs some assistance. He bought a 2020 Yamaha MT09 and that makes this dad feel a lot better for his safety. Additionally, the MT09 is very fast and handles quite well, has a warrantee, parts are available as is service. Good choice. He put on an after market CRG handle which really helped BUT this old fart needs enough leverage to at least get out of town or off the line for first to second gear.... then a nice new shift/clutch unit. Of course first through six would be even better. Any new stuff out there that might fit the 1125R? Have you...searched for your desire ? No one outside Buell is making anything...for Buell, specifically ! You're on your own. Even the 1190 battery's are (last I heard) are no longer available. Mike | ||

It sounds like you are looking for something more than just levers. That said, one may be able to find after market levers for the Japanese Nissin clutch and brake master cylinders on the Buell 1125s. The Nissin master cylinders are most likely generic designs. At least the levers would be a start. Another path would be to swap out the master cylinders for units with the same or similar size bore and with known after market lever products available. Thanks for posting link Paul...that is what I am looking for. Looks like the levers at the link will provide more adjustability/control which is what I am looking for on the clutch side. | ||

Be careful with those Chinese levers. I had a set on my wife's Ninja 250. They were very close to right, but the clutch lever eventually ate the clutch cable and the brake side just wouldn't move over time. | ||

Lew, Thanks for the reminder about getting poor quality items from China off eBay. eBay has such a very large selection of aftermarket levers (it's almost overwhelming). There are aftermarket lever sellers from all over the world: USA, United Kingdom, France and China. Some of the sellers may be just re-selling the components built in China at higher prices but still with lesser quality. Some of the sellers, however, may have quality hardware / quality product listed on eBay. Anyone have any recommended levers or sellers of aftermarket levers? If so, please provide recommendations. | ||

Hmm..I'm confused, its hydraulic, so for the most part it should be much easier to operate than a cable clutch. Mine certainly is, is there a chance something else is going on with your levers/MCs/fluid? | ||

If you want a smoother clutch, replacing the lever won't help. I would advise you to use a different clutch pump. I myself use a Magura pump of a KTM 1290GT | ||

Similarly - I picked up a Nissin radial MC from LAP - it’s mated to an Oberon and I could probably actuate the clutch with just my pinky finger. LAP via eBay may still have a few levers too. | ||

One thing to note - if the bike was not running then it will have a much harder clutch pull than when running and if you haven’t ridden it in a while it may be something you’ve forgotten about. I know I did. |
