Obviously I replaced the O2 sensor first. No dice. Replaced intake seals- original seals were perfect and showed no signs of leakage. No dice. Put new plugs in at the same time. Reconditioned fuel pump with complete premium kit (not ebay junk). No dice sent injectors to be cleaned/flow tested by Buell guru. No dice although he says the flow did improve a bit Tested a known good ECM No dice. replaced cam position sensor with drag specialties unit...not only no dice...no fire whatsoever ..so back to original unit Cleaned and inspected grounds under the seat and on the steering head. No sign of oxidation or poor contact, and no dice where the problem is concerned Nothing I have done has changed the fact that as soon as the bike is fully warm- about 3-4 miles into a test ride, the check engine light comes on, always code 13 My original plugs looked lean. O2 sensor appeared lean...intake valve and everything I could see when replacing intake seals looked spotless, too spotless. No carbon, just bare aluminum and steel...I suppose from running very hot Anybody have any ideas about a recurring code 13 ? |

Run a new wire from the o2 sensor to the ecm. Fixed it on my 06 |

Thanks for the reply. I will try that, though the bike shows good connectivity/good info from the o2 sensor when hooked to ECMSPY |

Could also be cracked solder joint on the ECM circuit board. Not all photos can be viewed but there are a few examples of what to look for. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/726411.html?1334338510 |

I did swap on a new ECM and got the same code 13 at the same point in my test ride |

I am really about to just unload this thing. I love it but it has some issue somewhere in the electrical/fuel system that I have been unable to fix |

I removed my fan and replaced it with a couple of LED lights. ‘06 Uly 48,000 miles. No more red lights, no more spark skip mode. I feel that the engine gets more air flow (RSS) without the fan impeding the air flow while under way. Stuck in traffic would suck but it is not a parade bike. I am located in NSB Florida BTW. YMMV |
