Hi there. Just want to introduce myself. I’ve gotten my first Buell an RR1200. It is I believe the 5th RR1200 made in 1989. It’s been run as a cafe racer by the first owner, but I will be getting it back to being as original as possible. I have all the body work but will no doubt have questions about where to get stuff as I’m sure some of you have all been through this process before. Cheers |

One of my favorite Buells ever . . . . I used to have copies of the owners manuals, service manuals and parts manuals. The RR is pure art. |

Hi wcbracing, this RR and an RS were imported by Mike Sinclair (Australian Powersports) and put through the ADR (Australian design rules)compliance process as his company was the official importer. He met Erik in the states when he was working in the motorcycle press and thought Australians would like a HD powered sports bike. He still owns the RS. The Aust/US exchange rate was pretty shocking at the time so they were about $30k Aussie. Pretty steep 30 years ago! The RR was sold to a friend in 1990ish and he has had it since, but never ran it with the standard bodywork. No other pre-HD Buells were sold here so this is the only RR officially imported into the country. I rode it just prior to doing the 1125R launch for Two Wheels magazine a few years back so I could compare the two bikes and see where the 1125 came from. I’ve had a hankering for it ever since, but I prefer the streamliner look. I think a Melbourne HD dealer had privately imported an RR1000 but I’ve not seen it. |

Hi Court, if you have copies of RR manuals I’d appreciate it if you could scan them and send them to me. I’m pretty sure I can work out most things but a guide never hurts! Cheers |

Has anyone had any issues with the sprocket and Cush drive arrangements on the RR1200? I’ve machined up new bushes out of neo-whatchacallit but I’m concerned about lateral movement of the sprocket under load. |

Hi would anyone have a parts/workshop manual for a RR1200 I could buy or get copies of? Cheers |
