I assumed I'd see something about this here this morning. Saw this posted on EBR's facebook page last night. Honestly things with this company are such a roller coaster I have a hard time getting excited at any kind of Buell related good news anymore, but it looks like they managed to get the Buell name back and are planning on making a handful of new bikes under the name. Apparently they're already making an 1190cc dirtbike, which I can't even wrap my head around... Not sure if Erik is still involved at this point or if he's moved on, but I'll be curious to see where it goes.

"Not sure if Erik is still involved at this point or if he's moved on, but I'll be curious to see where it goes." I'd say he's not, otherwise this press release would have mentioned that in, or probably even before, the first paragraph. Still, it's something. Who knows, perhaps they can get him involved as a consultant. |

I googled a little later, and it said Erik wasn't involved. Looks like that dirtbike was actually a hill climbing bike, which makes more sense. |

When they have to sell the bikes, maybe we'll see an endorsement from Erik. If we don't, that will be telling. |

Erik is involved with the Fuell electric bikes not the EBR or Buell bikes. Bill Melvin and his son are the money behind the EBR/Buell bike here in Grand Rapids Mi. |

Bill Melvin says they have Jacob Stark. So things are looking up. |

Whether EB is going to be involved or not, I hope the new Buell will keep the seat height at 29 in. Roderick |

Esp if you are a start up you dont change stupid things. You roll with the formula that works and do whats profitable. You dont make stupid decisions like HD to devolve and waste money. |

Gotta be tough seeing someone else selling the bikes you made, and not having any involvement. As much as he doesn't want LAP using his name, it's nice to see in the minds of people, his name is permanently attached to the bikes he started. They could've just slapped a new name on the side of those bikes and tried to sell them as their own, but they'll always be Buells. |

EB or not, I wish Buell success. I wonder how involved he is allowed to be by the terms of the receivership, though. |

He did mention, he offered to come on board with LAP, but his services were not needed. And maybe then it was the case. Maybe it would be different if he wasnt involved in Fuell today. Unfortunately, neither company offers anything I'm really interested in. I finally watched the "making of the 1190 video" this weekend. With the way it starts, I thought it was just a rehash of the video he made when Buell was shut down. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it, as it chronicles what was going on between the shutdown of Buell to when things were still hunky dory with Hero. Its pretty soul wrenching to watch, being how everything turned out and how Erik frequently mentions how he basically poured everything he had into EBR. Its an hour, so break out some popcorn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW2oSS-NnuQ |
