So the rumors are true... CamBee is off to Moto2. Just as well because he really wasn't facing any real competition this year in MotoAmerica. Hoping he does us proud on the world stage (though, at 27, he's a little old to be entering Moto2 isn't he?).

Found the answer to my question above. It has never happened in the premiere class, but it did happen in the 125cc class in 1999:

WTF, Yamaha??

I'm happy if Gerloff gets the opportunity but COME ON! They have one of the fastest guys who's EVER ridden an M1 available, and they pick a guy who's NEVER ridden a MotoGP bike before to fill in?? Seriously... WTF??

It appears Iannone's appeal backfired and his two-year ban has been doubled to four years. His career is over.

Other rumors at Crash.net have Dovi taking a year off to race motocross and Cal Crutchlow getting Lorenzo's testing gig at Yamaha.

Ok, so Gerloff didn't get to ride the the M1, but I agree how dangerous and potentially expensive putting someone so inexperienced on the M1 under those conditions.

Not sure if Gerloff meant it to come off like it sounds, but I think he succinctly made the point.

"If I do end up riding this weekend, it will be an uphill battle not knowing the bike, tyres, brakes, etc. Also, I have never been to the Valencia track before..."

He did get to ride it on Friday, but that was it. Valentino was back for the rest of the weekend but suffered another DNF. Yamaha is having one (crappy) year.

I hate to say it but I think Vale is done. It seems like for him the planets must be aligned for him to run up front. I am sure alot may be the M1 as it has the narrowest operating range on the grid. I haven't been following Gp as closely this year due to the crappy TV coverage (and 2020 being 2020), but the Petronas team seems as competitive as the factory team. Anyhow, I hope the DR. can find something for next year. It certainly is better for the series and his massive fanbase if he's relevant.

Eh, I turn it off when it was clear Mir was going to be crowned the champ, but I will go back to the check out the last couple laps. who would have thought Joan Mir would be the world champ on the Suzuki?!?! That bike handles like it's on rails. I bet it's one hell of a fun ride. To me, it's the epitome of what a motorcycle should be. Sometimes the corner speed is a detriment when it's constantly riding up the tailpipe of the bike in front, only having to roll off which hurts the exit--but there are often ways around that.

Remember when Marquez was intentionally parking it in the corners so Rins would have to do exactly that....the only way the point and shoot Honda had a chance.

An "All Satellite Podium!" That was interesting.

The big thing for next year is this: With a whole year off of the bike, and limited ability to train, what will Marc Marquez be like? Will he be competitive from the start, or will he become competitive as the year goes on?

These injuries have a way of slowing down a rider, even if it's sub-consciously. Not saying MM will be slow by any means because he's obviously one of the greatest ever, but the "I'm invincible" is what gives the younger riders the edge. Remember when Rossi high sided on the Duc and shattered his ankle? It took a LONG time for him to recover and some said he never made it ALL the way back. It will definitely be interesting. Honda has seeming made a bike that only MM can ride competitively--kinda like Stoner back in the day on that Ducati.

Lorenzo's shoulder injury in a rainy Assen also knocked the wind out of his sails, but he did bounce back. The falls and injuries on the Ducati and then the Honda finished him.

I think this is the first time MM realized he's NOT invulnerable. Next year will be an interesting year.

Apparently Marquez just had ANOTHER surgery performed on his arm. The bone wasn't healing properly so they've given him a bone graft from his hip in hopes it promotes faster regeneration of the tissue...

And he will slow down because of it....more than likely. If he doesn't, he's definitely the GOAT.

Argentina's paddocks went up in flames yesterday. The race was already postponed from April 21 so I wonder if they'll even race there at all this year?

Latest word is that Marquez' doctors are happy with his recovery so far. Still no word on whether or not he'll participate in the pre-season practice in Qatar though. Day by day...

CamBee qualified 21st but finished in 11th. That's not a bad start at all. Hoping for better this weekend. We already knew Joe Roberts was fast...

But what a race.. Mir did a really good impression of a Marc Marquez save with about 6 or 7 laps to go, and most of the race the riders were so tight it looked like a flat track event.

M. Marquez will be back for Portimao. It'll be interesting to see how he does after ninth months of relative inactivity combined with the sure knowledge that he is neither immortal nor invulnerable for the first time...

Marquez doesn’t even make the top ten had it not been for all the crashes ahead of him.

I hate to admit it because I love the guy and he's the reason I got interested in Grand Prix racing (for the second time) but... Valentino's gotta pack it in. He's just not doing anything this year... : (

Once Colin Edwards retired and Nicky Hayden was shuffled off to WSBK, watching Valentino was the only thing that kept me coming back. Now I'm more interested in Moto2 (which they don't even seem to broadcast here in the States) with Roberts and Beaubier. Gerloff is making WSBK interesting too, but I can't seem to find that on my cable network at all.

On another matter: More and more riders are getting arm pump surgery these days. I'm wondering if MotoGP speeds are reaching the point that the human body can't tolerate anymore. Thoughts? Actually, it's not the speeds so much as the G-Forces on deceleration. Higher speeds require harder and harder braking which is putting a lot more stress on the riders' bodies...

I had never heard of arm pump until last week watching the onboard camera show the grimace on Quartararo's face after the race.
Jaimec's question about rider limits leads me to wonder when perhaps power assisted braking will be the next Moto GP bike feature added. If it ( arm pump) comes on that suddenly, the weight and tech liability of a powered system is worth the tradeoff to prevent a condition like that hitting a prize winning rider mid-race.
