I've always been curious. It doesn't seem too hard to use a tiny compressor to air-over-hydraulic the existing remote pre-load? How about adapting an HD aftermarket air shock? Hmmm... Can you tell I'm bored?  | ||

The Pan-America is the obvious go-to, but check out that exhaust, I wonder how badly they wanted to use an underslung muffler but NONONO we couldn't possibly do THAT! LOL. | ||

The first 100 ordered got a display signed windshield, I have #14, not sure if it is the same # off the line but I received it in September of 05. Still love it, 77K mostly trouble free miles. Waiting to see if the Pan American can stand up to it, time will tell. | ||

O6 Uly X. 67,000 miles. Still get compliments on it everywhere I go. Today 65 miles. 2 stops 4 compliments. I still love it in spite of being bothered all of the time! | ||

Mine has been a little lazy lately as my new job is only 2 miles away not to mention she needs new sneakers for the ? time. I bought a new tool box and found wheel bearings, front and rear I bought for the next time the wheels are off, rears have been changed a couple of time because of necessity, fronts are original. Michelin being searched. | ||

Bought my ‘06 the end of 2005 as part of Dave S’s fly and ride deal from HD of Appleton, WI. I think around 10 of us bought Ulysses before the end of ‘05 and agreed to meet and pick them up in May. We toured the factory, had lunch with EB and his crew at Gus’s Drive In, rode to the UP, etc. I flew up from Orlando and on the way home checked out Indy 500 qualifying and rode the Dragon. Fun trip. I still have mine, approaching 50K and running great. My favorite bike for sure. | ||

To Shaggin's point, I don't know what a 2020 would have looked like, but sure glad to have gotten off that train. I wouldn't trust HD with the once again changing wind in terms of the future direction of their bike line up. Call me a millenial, but after 15 years of Buells, I just ordered my first non-HD related bike. (Yamaha Tenere 700) | ||

I show up here from time to time since I spent so many years here and logged so many miles in the 4 Buells I owned, I regret to this day letting my 2009 XB12X go it was the greatest motorcycle I ever owned. I have a nice Vstrom that collects dust it's rather boring. I miss you all, God bless | ||

I'd agree the 'Dirtbagger' is probably what a '21 Uly would look like. The underslung can is a great physics experiment, but a poor location for a bike that is supposed to be good 'off-road' The HD dressers have had air suspension for years - there's no reason other than cost that it isn't standard equipment. | ||

I test rode an 06 Uly while I was riding a Cagiva Gran Canyon. Two bikes that were supposed to be similar. Wow, I couldn't believe how different they were. The Cagiva felt fast and the engine was always in attack mode. It really was fun to ride like a demon, but after about 2 hours in the saddle I'd had enough. One ride on the Uly and it was so relaxed. It didn't really feel like I was going very fast until I looked at the speedometer! Once I figured out where the power band was I could ride it like a demon but when I wanted to relax it was easy to short shift and enjoy the scenery. I bought the Uly and rode both for a while but the Uly won out. As Erik says, it's just so versatile. I've ridden from St. Louis to Colorado. Ran twisty asphalt to Jeep trails. Truly a Swiss army knife of motorcycles. |
