On a lighter note... If you want Nsfw humor, check out the video... Area 151 - Bitter Barista Swearing, lots, not for childish folk. ( so no link ) Also Air & Space magazine back in March did a UFO article mentioning the Area 51 party. As the video says, "good luck on storming a classified military base". Personally, I'd love a tour. The odds of being harmed by Boron Hydroxide ( chemicals! ) are pretty low unless you crawl randomly around the county sized base. Asbestos and unexploded ordnance are legit hazards, though, so 4 wheeling past the skull signs is silly. Not to mention that base security will know where you are and will intercept you far from anything real, or witnesses. Not that I'd accuse the government of disappearing people. But iirc, you could be held incommunicado until after the evidence Hillary is a Lizard Woman from V is declassified. Seriously, some very cool airplanes were tested there. Fighters, bombers, recon planes, stealth, all that's open history. Rumors include bistatic radar airships, pulse combustion hypersonics, and, of course, the aliens. And the scale is daunting. I've logged flights shorter than the marked runways. While the most secret item on base is probably a new refueling hose ( not stealth... Biofuel compatible ) I'd still love a look at the inside of the hangers. Google maps shows ( last I looked, several 737s ( famously used to commute to Vegas, the nearest civilian population center & anonymous airport ) & 1 F-15. Seriously? One? No T-38s? ( The standard chase plane for planes up to Mach 1.8 ) There's gotta be a hot toy parked in those huge hangers waiting for a satellite gap to go keep current on. ( you need to keep in practice or you aren't as safe to fly. That applies to Piper Cubs or the saucer Will Smith flew ) |

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/11/e lectric_vehicles_will_drive_us_to_serf_city.html I'm going to rate this as paranoid. It's not like your Cadillac has a microphone to listen to you or could be turned off while you drive by remote control. Or your Tesla can change performance, range, or anything by a software update you knew nothing about. Or, excuse me, my computer has to shut down for a Windows 10 |

I used to be able to choose when Windows was re-written too. Ah... The Old Days. Waking up in the morning and discovering I had Windows 10. And Edge. And the clap... uh, never mind that wasn't... |

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/12/real_ meat_is_green.html A real study on how many gallons of diesel it takes to grow a real vs. fake burger would be mildly interesting. I haven't tried the "Impossible burger", but I did buy an 8 pack of "Beyond burger" @ Costco to try it out. I tried various pans and cast iron & plenty of oil worked best. Let the pattie sit without touching it the entire recommended time, so the heat/chemical reactions can seal the surface, or it sticks and tears badly. ( not bad advice for most meats, too ) My first attempt I got impatient and lost a lot of "meat" to sticking. ( stainless tri-ply w/oil ) Packaging is... Extravagant. Individual parties packed in 2s in molded plastic sealed units. Necessary to keep the shape & separated, perhaps. I'd think a stack w/waxed paper dividers would work, but I suppose they're going for Premium looks to match the high price. Flavor? Not horrible. Maybe the best commercial veggie burger I've tried, which is damning with faint praise. Savory, umani, but not really much like beef, to me. I'll finish them off, eventually, but won't buy again. Full disclosure, I'm in the minority that tastes the compound in Cilantro as "soap" ( & thus even soap tastes different to me ) so even though Beyond patties don't taste like that to me, you might get a completely different result. So unless you have gout, etc. or want to avoid meat, but still want the flavors, so far I suggest going for meat. It would not surprise me if any decent meat substitute took more resources than critters & farming. Man's been raising food animals for many thousands of years. Fake meat? Ww1? Less than a couple of centuries, anyway, and for a niche market, or wartime shortages. The moral reasons to avoid meat are beyond this thread. As long as you're not trying to take my food away to make yourself feel better about your moral superiority, feel free to have your own opinions. |

The organic/natural food folks used to bitch about all the processing that was done to food. I guess this meat substitute gets a special dispensation. |

Higher cause? Meat from cuddly critters bothers some. One vegi-something i know explains she prefers not to eat anything with a face. Re: your point, competing holier than thous or hierarchy of Wokeness, or graduations in the greater good? I try the veggie burgers because I limit red meat to avoid gout. So, food allergy sorta. Not moral rationalization. |

We've got an Organic guy here, and while we differ in opinion on details of productivity I don't mind if an onion was grown in manure or hydroponically, in "clean chemicals". As long as it gets the e-coli washed off, it's an onion. The Chipolte chain shows the problems you get when the pre-washed lettuce got under sanitized. I don't know the exact details, but they wash veggies with chlorinated water. If the chlorine is too strong, it leaves a taste, ( and in California, causes cancer ) if too weak, too many germs get in the package. And it's cheaper to use less chlorine. I recall in the early 1980's, Chrysler developed a very good rust prevention coating for their cars. But the managers at the plant were able to cut corners, just use a weaker current, or less time, and got bonuses, and the system didn't work. Rusty cars. Pretty much the same deal. The Farmer might do a decent job, but the processing plant.... |

Those graphs sure show the need for evil, efficient natural gas. For this and many other issues, I hope Georgia votes GOP in January to hold the Senate to resist the CO2 madness. |

I'm starting to think the best way to deal with Panic Fraud, ( there are many ) is to loudly point out where the money pumped from our pockets is better used. And how the solution for the Panic Mantra of the hour, both won't help, and who will get rich after bribing the politicians. An example might be... Better forest management in the U.S. west will absorb more CO2, save more lives and property, keeping everyone's Insurance and taxes from rising so fast and so much, and kill less birds than shutting down the nuclear power and paying to build unrecyclable, Condor devouring wind farms. I'm not opposed to wind power, but it's ecological impacts should be considered. Also, the upgrade of Ca!i's electrical grid, to prevent man made fires and improve the distribution of sustainable, distributed power, like integrated, solar roofing, solar shingles/tiles, say,( if you get in on the ground floor, & they mandate solar roofs And you'll make a killing ) And Carbon Free Really Fail Safe Thorium neighborhood powerplants. Oh, and domestic solar roof production does wonders for the tax base. ( that politicians love to spend! ) And... The appeal to emotional sales and ( sarcasm ) needs to be better tuned & scripted. Thoughts on the idea? |

https://the-pipeline.org/child-soldiers-of-the-rev olution/ https://the-pipeline.org/thanks-again-fracking/ In a recent article in the Toronto Sun, Lorrie Goldstein comments on a surprising fact: that Justin Trudeau, the dream political leader of the environmental lobby, is going to have to concede that Canada has missed the emissions reduction target it agreed to in 2009, while America -- after four years under Donald J. Trump -- will actually exceed that target. Says Goldstein: This despite the fact Trump, unlike Trudeau, never imposed a national carbon tax on the U.S. Nor has any American president done so. Also, despite the fact Trump, unlike Trudeau, announced he was withdrawing from the 2015 Paris climate agreement in 2017, saying it was contrary to the economic interests of the U.S. To meet the goals Canada has to either shut down all electrical power and farms, or burn their Prime Minister on the stake. ( which wouldn't fulfill his promises, just stop him from making more ) |

For The Children! ( reg. Trade Mark ) To Save The Earth! ( reg. Trade Mark) Seriously, if brake dust is the greatest threat to little fishes in California waters, then it's safe to burn houses, forests, scrub, and bureaucrats. And we now know that tossing pennies into goldfish ponds is bad for the fish. Copper in brake dust is probably bad too. Because Cali-Science firmly believes in the same concept behind homeopathy. Any possibility of a single molecule of a drug in a river or lake is the same as dipping the fish in the pure stuff. So one copper penny in Lake Shasta is the same as fishing in a copper plating solution. |

Copper is lethal to reef invertebrates. Fish, not so much. It's not good for them, but it occurs naturally almost everywhere. Also, it is used to kill parasites in hobbyist tanks. Fires happen naturally, and the smoke particles are dangerous to humans. We should go ahead and ban conflagrations of all types. Who in their right mind wants to live forever anyway? |
