What would you guys do? My X1 is loved but not very important for me anymore. Im kicking the idea of putting a new 1250 kit on it. Right now it has a Race ECM and a race Muffler. All I want to do to the heads are guide seals. Im not interested in any other motor upgrades. Looks Like the NHRS 15 degree Kit might be still available The Hammer Performance for sure looks available. Which one? Leaning towards the Hammer Kit BIG UNKNOWN is the ECM. I have sent an Email to Twin cycles asking for their advice. I have my stock ecm and a factory ECM. Both are ECM Spy virgins and havent been burned over. I am asking Twin if they will have a map for me. If this isnt an easy bolt on new top end. Reset the AFV and TPS and be basically done I am going to get turned off to doing this. What would you do I dont need advice about the work. Just mainly the kit to use and how much I need a new Ecm Flash from Twin Cycles. How difficult. BTW My 01 X1 has always been extremely reliable for around 44k miles with the race kit. Thanks! http://i.imgur.com/3ZXCBVM.jpg It runs perfect right now. I just tried to ride it and the fuel line started leaking when I turned on the key. If Hammer and Twin cant assure me of an Easy and simple top end then she is for sale. I've had a Hammer Performance 1250 kit on my X1 for a few years now. Paid Twin Motorcycles about 300 for the ECM tune. Very happy with it, it's insanely quick. Quicker than any XB I've ever been on. |

NRHS just folded. Dan is awesome and I'm going to miss him. I just received my Hammer 1275 kit yesterday and am excited to get it installed. I think Hammer does a basic "competition valve job" for about $300-ish depending on what parts need replacing. http://hammerperf.com/xlmachineshop.shtml#Cylinder%20Head%20Services (Message edited by 34nineteen on November 05, 2020) |

Thanks for info. Ill know soon about the ECM Process soon from Hammer and hope to make a decision to save her. @Falloutnl I am going to assume Twin Cycles would have a few Wiley Co muffler maps. 1275 is a new product though. So Hammer might have to be the ones to help with the ECM. (Message edited by victory on November 06, 2020) |
