I am trying to tee up somthing to do after Booniville Salt Flats this year, and am thinking of trying to do this event http://www.buell.com/en_us/brag/adventures/2004/ridge_main.asp at the moment if I book will arrive Charlotte NC afternoon of Tuesday 9/21 and head up to NYC on Tuesday 9/28. The running the ridge is in a place called Boone and finishs friday. I am trying to rent a bike and my question is there enough to keep me intrested in this area from Friday night the event end till tuesday mornning when I leave for NYC. Where will people stay durring the event. Any other info that will help make a decision woul be appreciated. Paul in Oz Rogers | ||

Enough to keep you interested ??? are you kidding??? You'll be in the Blue Ridge Mountains - some of the BEST riding in the US. Hey, with that much time on your hands, you could make it to the Dragon and back with time to spare before you head towards NYC. Henrik | ||

And actually I had planned on this long ago. Ted k was instrumental in starting this gig & he offered me his spare room while down there. This was all before his accident. So im going down to ride the roads, see the sights & visit Ted for a bit. | ||

OK been very busy at work today all over the net on Deals gap and the Blue Ridge Parkway. So in 3 days from Boone, North Carolina leaving am Saturday. Is a trip down to Deals Gap via the Parkway and get back to Stesville NC by Monday PM do able. | ||

If I can finagle a decent trailer, then I would haul both bikes down. Makes for a more relaxing ride once I get there. Otherwise I will ride down...have done it in the past. Little over 700 miles each way. | ||

paul, it's pretty easy to do 400 mile loops in a day up there in the nc,tn,va area. i had so much fun riding the last time i was there, i would stop for gas and food and ride some more. did you find a rental bike? tim | ||

Paul.. Call Tilleys! Bubba set them up to rent Buells and that is where you need to call! I'm going to be there.. and of course the wife will be there with her 'Bumble Buell'.. Can't wait to see you guys & gals there.. it's gonna be a great one! Later, | ||

Yes I found Tilleys and I am talking to them. It's just the Logistics I am trying to work out arrive Charlotte 1030 at night, then I have to get to Tilleys to pick up bike, so I need to find a place to stay in Charlotte on the 21st September. Then a bus to Tilleys to pick up bike and hopfully leave suitecase etc with them then need to find out where other people are staying for event, | ||

paul you'll have more roads than you can shake a jar of moonshine at....its totally doable. talk to kris kerley at tilley's about renting the bike. and I emailed you bear's phone number talk to him. | ||

OK Tickets Booked I now arrive Charlotte 4 pm on the 21 st September thats a bit more respectable time.From what I can see on the Brag site when I registered the event runs from Wed 22nd to Friday 24 th. So if anybody is intrested I riding down to Deals Gap or elswhere on Sat 25th through to Monday 27th let me know. |
