Ok, now I understand. I just looked at the repair manual and see that those are the broken off rear muffler bracket bolts. Thanks Griffmeister for helping me to understand what happened. Hopefully no locktite was used during the build. Given how the sidestand bolts came out on their own a while back, I am optimistic.

I'm afraid that Buell used a lot of red loctite on most fasteners. How they missed the kickstand I don't know. I would try the left hand bit but you're going to need to get a center punch in there or a dremel to flatten the surface so you can center punch it. Once you get a hole drilled, if it doesn't come out, use an easy out along with some heat. Red loctite will let go around 300 degrees if I remember correctly. Take your time.

Roger Tootal. Thanks.
Sure could have used a garage with a pulley hoist today. But I made due. Put some PB Blaster on the breaks and will let it set over night.

Got it done, removed the broken muffler bracket bolts.
Good news is there was NO RED LOCKTITE, did not use heat.
Center punched a hole, then gently used 1/16 titanium bit to make pilot hole followed by a slowly turned 5/64 left hand bit in reverse. Both rolled right out with ease.
This would be good info to know for some other poor Buell fellow that may find themselves in this situation.

BUT, when I went to start the bike after putting it back together, got sprayed with gas when red switch was engaged and fuel pump loaded.
The fuel supply fitting at the fuel supply stud is disconnected. Haven't evaluated what or why.
I sure like my Uly but it can be so quirky. Glad I have a KLE300 as backup.

I’d imagine there was a big sigh of relief as the second bolt came out. Good j.

I'm glad to hear that! I was expecting the worst. Great job!

Sounds like you snapped the fuel pump stud, like i did? Easiest way to fix it is to find a used baseplate and move your pump stuff over. The stud is pressed in but i had no luck figuring out how to press it out.

Yea, very happy with the outcome. Now off to start a new thread on the XB page about finding out how to do fuel supply line banjo fitting replacement.
Thanks for all the help everyone. And I will update this thread with new muffler install results.

Got the SG exhaust installed today. Hope to re-tune tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then not til next week. Was so nice putting the rear mount bolt in where the bolt break-off had occurred.

Curious to hear how it runs once you've got it tuned. I've been looking at that pipe for a while, but I haven't seen a single report from anyone who's installed one.

I hope it's awesome! Please keep us posted.

Quick update.
Got the Revision Moto XB-SG exhaust tune installed today. I used my Android Samsung 2014 Galaxy Tab 3, Buelltooth and ECMDroid app.. Took me a few days to learn how to put all that together, but I am at a new level of mechanical knowledge and skill.
Rain was approaching, but got a short ride in.
I like the sound and WOW, the power increase!
I am going to contact Revision Moto and ask how much horsepower is gained from the SG.
I will get a sound video up when I can and provide another update. So far, very happy with choice.
