Last week I asked my insurance agent for the quote on the R1. First quote he gives me is $1837 or something. I tell him no way & we change a few numbers, go from a $250 deductible to a $500 & the price drops to $1300+ change. Still asinine but somewhat understandable givin the numbers I have seen others post. He writes the policy up & when it spits back the total amount due from the home office in Madison the price drops dramatically.....how's $275 a year full coverage sound? He is a bit perplexed but says "what the hell, if thats what they want to charge you let them". Get the policy in the mail the other day & sure enough its listed in black & white at $275 per year full coverage with a $500 deductible for an 04 R1. Now im just hoping they dont change their mind all of a sudden. |

Cool. I hope you never have to make a claim, and your premium never increases. |

Destination one of Milwaukees hot spots? If so is it Brady street or the one out by Capitol? Nights work out great for me now since I get off work at 2:30. |

God bless you Squidlyman. If my insurance was premium $275 per year, I'd still have insurance. I dropped my bike on the right side a few months ago and the damage was close to $800. Bummer. That was still way less than the $500 deductible and $600 premium. If I get through from now until the end of July without dropping it again, I'll be money ahead. |

Dyna...If'n you come up for Two Wheel Tuesday, let me know when and where. I wanna lay some drool on your new bike. Plus, I haven't seen you for a while and have some catching up to do. If you to the Culver's thing, I will Hog it and show you the almost finished product. If it is at the Garage/Hi Hat on Brady, I have to take the Buell. They don't like Harley's down there. For that matter, they don't like Buell's much either. LOL |

BTW, I definitely prefer the Brady street deal. Culvers is ok if you want a burger & stand around in a parking lot looking like an idiot. At least downtown you have places to sit down, watch some tube, hear some music, etc. |

I know what you mean about Culver's. I went twice to TWT after they moved there and gave up on it. The Garage is a much better set up especially with those two Huge projection screens or whatever you call them. Heck, even LW Meats was better and they only had a small TV set up. LOL So let me know if you are heading this way and when you plan to arrive and depart. Don't forget to bring your camera, I think there will be one sign you can't resist taking a pic of. |

Where the hell would I carry a camera? Cant put anything under the seat or it would probably start on fire from the exhaust temps This bike is going to make a great cold weather ride. Has its own built in heater. |

Wouldnt matter, id be so far in front of that you wouldnt even be able to see a faint flicker of light from my tailight. Rog, American Family is the insurance. For years I have had decent rates but nothing great. Seems like this is the first time they have cut me a break. And of course my agent tells me "when you hit 50 then your rates will drop". I told him to save that lie, been telling me that for 25 years they just keep upping the age tho. |

Gee, thanks Koz. LOL Ok, forget the tank bag. Get one of those carbon fiber back packs and pretend it is some form of neck/back protection for the UltraSquid. |

BTW...finally got the actual bill today..not just a quote & yep $275.60 for the year for the R1. I mailed it off immediately before they change their mind. Now I have to stop in there monday & see about the price for the Dyna. Foremost which I have had for 6 years just jacked up their rates & they now want $420 for the year. Is that wacked or what? $400 for a HD & $275 for an R1? And who says insurance rates for sportbikes suck? |
