I am looking for a 2” muffler for my 97 S1. Right now I have a old cone style Supertrapp with the integrated elbow. It seems like the only options available for 2”’ systems anymore is Twins Race muffler replica or a stock muffler. I’m looking for something with a bit more of a rumble than stock, but not as loud as the Twin race muffler. According to Martin, they are very loud and I like my neighbors. I’ve seen other exhausts out there, but it seems like they are all for the 2.5” systems. |

you got options. research that supertrapp muffler , with changing the amount of discs in it it can be quiet or loud.. the other option is the vance and hines 22 r 1 or whatever its model name is.i have that and its not quiet but not loud. |

I am actually looking for something new. The Supertrapp being sold now are only for the 2.5” header and the V&H SSR2 isn’t made anymore. The Supertrapp I have is so old it doesn’t even come with a provision for a front mount. It was probably an original accessory for when the bike was new. The sound from the Supertrapp is ok, but the design really doesn’t inspire confidence and I’d rather not risk cracking my header. |

If I was looking for an exhaust I'd probably go for one of the Dean Adams exhausts. Hand made and very nice looking. |

I am 100% with you and reached out to Dean awhile back. Unfortunately he says he does not have a fixture for doing an S1. So, the search continues. |

That's a huge letdown. I always wanted one of his exhausts. |

I didn’t think he was doing tuber mufflers anymore. I will have to drop Kevin a line. |

As I recall, your exhaust ends pointing to the left, not to the back like the race exhaust. If you can get a 90 degree pipe, like the Vance& Hines used, then the Supertrapp is, I believe, ideal. The 17" fits well and ends about the same distance to the rear tire as stock. They do make it in 2" inlet. SuperTrapp 443-2017 4 inch Universal S/C Elite Muffler 17in/2in ID - Brushed S/S P/N 443-2017; https://supertrapp.com/supertrapp-443-2017-4-inch-universal-s-c-elite-muffler-17in-2in-id-brushed-s-s Yes, there is no rear mount bracket. I used a heavy steel strap wrapped around the muffler with the two ends bolted to the stock muffler mount positions. I used a bolt, about 6" long, across the top of the muffler, used to snug the strap around the muffler. Oh, and I hammered a dimple in the top to clear the transmission oil drain plug.
