The safeguards around auto wiping upon successive bad password attempts is real; most organizations have such controls in place. And yet, I’ve never seen it happen. What kind of idiot knowingly enters their password incorrectly that many times knowing that it will wipe the phone? Answer: Someone who wants their phone wiped. This won’t go anywhere. They cannot prove anything.
I try to keep politics out of my Snippets. I’m aware that Politics has replaced religion for many people and they will cling to their beliefs in spite of evidence and facts to the contrary. It would be easier to convince a devout Moslem to eat a BLT and to be tolerant of homosexuals than to get a devout Democrat to admit that Donald Trump did something right.
However, this morning, I am filled with admiration for a political move and I just want to share my admiration.
Last night, I was talking with a friend who has a pretty severe case of TDS and she told me that Trump had said to vote twice. That resonated in my head, so this morning, I started to investigate that statement. To cut to the chase, Trump did say that. However, like most things I see in the news, there’s more to that statement.
There’s been a lot of turmoil over the mail- in vote that the Democrats have been pushing, I’ve personally seen how it could get screwed up. I received my ballot for the Primary late on Saturday afternoon, and for it to be valid, it had to have a postmark by Sunday (the next day). I wound up riding to the voting area miles away to vote in person. I’ve also seen the four ballots for four people who never lived at that address sent to a woman who did live there.
However, the Democrats have repeatedly stated that the system will work properly and it won’t be misused. So Trump told his supporters in South Carolina to vote in person and by mail to prove the system is secure and can’t be misused. This has the Dems falling all over themselves to make sure the mail-in votes will be safe and secure and the vote count will be accurate.
I also saw a quip that said that if Trump really wanted to discourage Democrats from using Mail in voting, he should mandate that all stamps have his picture on them. That made me laugh.
Back in the 1980s, Ronald Reagan announced the Star Wars initiative. His opponents screamed and railed against it. Reagan had a reputation of being a militant war monger, and everybody believed he seriously wanted to up the arms race. What nobody realized was that it was just a plan to make the Soviet Union bankrupt themselves trying to develop defenses against the weapons Reagan proposed. And it worked. It ended the Cold War.
I think Trumps comments fall into the same category. I think the election will be much more honest because of that statement and it thwarts the probable corruption that was planned.
Trumps comment also was NOT to tell people to vote twice.
Send in a mail-in ballot. Once it is filed (properly), your name will no longer be eligible to vote. Your voter I.D. will show "voted" and you will be done voting.
Then, go to vote in person. IF your mail-in vote was properly counted...you will be turned away at the polling place because your vote will already be in the system.
If your vote was NOT properly counted, it will allow you to vote. If that is the case, place your vote, then and there. In person.
Please note, this will only verify that "A" vote was counted under your voter registration I.D. - it will not verify that it was the actual vote that you cast. This, is still a HUGE potential fraud loophole with mail-in voting - along with votes, like Crusty said, that are sent out to people who don't live at an address (or aren't alive at all!), and are "somehow" being sent back in order to cast a vote.
I have a question about the verification of mail in ballot testing.
Why would you think it a valid check, if you vote Republican? It's the obvious move to count & cross off the Republican mail in votes, but not cross off the Democrat names.
Trump won't get the Peace Prize. That's reserved for terrorists and Authoritarians. ( and if you look at the Syria-Iraq-Iran mess, Obama qualifies )
Mail-in ballots in VA have a serial number on the return envelope that includes an "R" or a "D" (guess why?). Given that many Postal workers have D-sympathies, what to stop a few ballots from being misplaced or delayed? My question is: "If a possiblecrack in the integrity of a voting method is discovered and pointed out, why wouldn't it be addressed?" To wave it off by saying that fraud never occurred "that way" is pretty unsatisfactory.
I fund it curious that hundreds can go to the local grocery or wallmart, but cant't vote?
Just like it's RACIST to expect people to have I.D. in order to vote in person ("voter suppression")...but you can't collect food stamps or unemployment without an I.D.
I know YOU aren't. But get a hotel room or rent a car is perhaps less... Pick-on-able?
Of course a Woke Monster would interpret the above as "You're calling Blacks itinerant & incapable of owning a car or having a home?"
So there's no escaping fallacious accusations of racism. Marxist Lies Theory...aka Critical Race Theory, is designed to win by accusing the Enemy of Evil & thus wrong no matter what they say.
Democrat insistence that Blacks are too stupid to get I.D. has been extended to "old people are incapable of getting I.D....So You Must hate the elderly" which insanely says in the 21st century 80 year old adults never voted or got I.D.. How they got married and entered a nursing home? That's not to be asked! And the excuse that it's little old ladies who lived in subservience to their late husbands & never got a licence to drive or registered to vote? I think that's sexist as heck.
But if you REALLY want to see "heads explode"... Just comment that if someone is too stupid to register to vote, you don't want them to vote! It's like urinating in the punch bowl at the party!
The REAL truth is you can ask in MANY places to register and they will fill out the forms & read them for you. Literacy and capability is not a requirement. Help is freely given and FREE. Provided by both taxes & volunteer help.
America is a great place and many of us are kind and helpful.
There's an Aussie comedian, (name escapes me) who in a London show comments on Americans that A: Americans will jump in to help anywhere, anytime. & B. Americans will stand right up and sing their National Anthem if you just ask.
Then asks the audience if there are any Americans. Picks a 19 year old pretty girl, who naturally goes on stage to help as he asks, then sings the Star Spangled Banner, a cappella, ( better than many celebrities at ball games ) proving his point.
America as a bureaucracy is sometimes a terrifying juggernaut. Americans individually can be monsters or saints. Our politicians are not that different from British Parliamentarians or Byzantine courtiers.
The Host of Top Gear ( Brit comedy car show ) once told an American audience that pickup trucks are stupid and useless... in England. Because anything you carry in the open back is just stolen when you stop at a light.
He then joked Americans would just shoot such thieves, and was ( acted ) terrified when the American crowd growled agreement.
Yep. That's us. We'll help anyone anywhere. Give more charity than the rest of the planet combined. Feed the world. Build space stations. And cross a frozen river on Christmas eve and kill you in your sleep.
"Mail-in ballots in VA have a serial number on the return envelope that includes an "R" or a "D""
I see that the envelopes will have a bar code to enable tracking, but in Virginia, you don't register with a party, so how would any one know to show a D or R?

That's a lot of stuff to line up to be random: same address, mailing and receipt date, and the matchup between their respective registrations. I sent this to my libtard sister, and her response was:" If you're worried about it, just black it out with a Sharpie..." [facepalm]. I made the point that if you want to build confidence in the integrity of a voting system, and ANYONE points out a loophole or flaw in the process, the process needs to be changed. (No response; maybe she's still thinking?)
